Why? (Ruby x Weiss)

Chapter 1: Ruby Rose

As the sun rose over Vale a bright spunky girl awoke. She had short black hair that at the tips were red. Her eyes were as silver as the necklace she wore that reminded her of her mother. Her skin was as tan as the desert sands. As she walked out of her room she spotted a tall blonde with purple eyes standing at the end of the hallway. The blonde turned to face her with a bright smile "Hey sis, did you sleep well?" the black haired girl yawned "Yeah I did. Did you sleep well Yang?" the blonde walked closer to the black haired girl "Well sis I slept great! Oh and by the way I've asked Dad and he's said yes to this. I don't want you to get to excited but I did get it to where you can stay in the city of Vale working for a dust shop owner." the black haired girls eyes lit up "Really?!" the blonde (Yang) smiled "Yep, but Ruby promise me something." "Yes Yang?" "Promise me that while you work there you will do everything in your power to stay safe?" the black haired girl (Ruby) nodded "I promise Yang." Yang sighed and hugged her sister "Well we leave for the city of Vale in three days so you might as well get packing." Ruby nodded and headed to her room to start packing.Ruby smiled as her sister helped her onto the back of her motorcycle they were on their way to Vale to help get Ruby settled in at the dust shop. Ruby looked at Yang as they began their voyage to the town. Ruby looked as her sister stopped the motorcycle in front of a dust shop with an old shop keeper working inside. Yang quickly hopped of her motorcycle and helped Ruby inside. Yang new that this dust shop was a target for many criminals and senses her sister was a student of Signal Academy she figured she could handle anyone that came her way. When Ruby and Yang were finished packing Yang said goodbye and headed home leaving her sister to her new home. Ruby smiled knowing that in a couple of days her sister would be near her at Beacon Academy. As Ruby worked she was smiling for her sister would be arriving tomorrow. Ruby finished her chores very quickly and told the shop owner that she would be listening to her music in the back where no one could see her. He nodded and she walked away. The shop owner smiled as he saw she was a very hard working girl who could do anything she put her mind to. He turned back to the window to find a group of criminals walk in and point a gun at him. He told them to take the money and go, but they weren't there for the money they were there for the dust. He watched as they headed to the back of the store. He was frightened for the little girl who he had living with him. As Ruby listened to her music she had her hood over her head. She was a girl who wore a short black dress with red trimming on the ends. She also wore black and red boots with black leggings and a hood as red as blood. The hood was very special for it was her mother's. She listened to her music not even noticing the man, but the man noticed her and tapped her shoulder Ruby turned around to face the man and meet his eyes "Yes?" the criminal smiled "I said put your hands in the air." Ruby gave him a confused expression "Are you robbing me?" the man nodded "YES" Ruby smirked "Ohhhh" she kicked the man making him fly out the window. All the other criminals turned to his direction to find Ruby standing over him smirking. She swung her giant psych around it was red and black just like everything else she owned and had. It was a weapon she used at Signal Academy. She had built it with her own hands and was taught how to use it by her Uncle Qrow. As she let it stab the ground she paused her music. The head criminal looked at her then at his men. They all just stood there and he sighed "Get her." They ran towards her as Ruby got ready for battle. She swung her psych around and hit every one of the guys. As they stood up she started swinging it and doing flips knocking some out. The few that remained she had a special surprise for them as she stabbed the psych to the ground and cocked the handle on the side of it. She pressed the trigger and it shot bullets right out of the top of it hitting every single one of the men. Their boss got angry and yelled "Must I do everything by myself!" he looked at Ruby as he pointed his cane to her "Sorry Little Red the show ends here." The bottom of the cane popped up as it shot a bullet out the end of it. Ruby jumped and missed the bullet just in time as she landed safely unharmed. Unfortunately the criminal was already getting away and she needed to follow him she looked at the store owner who saw everything "Would you be okay if I went after him?" the store owner nodded shock of the little girls talent. Ruby nodded thanking him and ran after the criminal. As she arrived at the roof top she saw the criminal climb into an air ship. The criminal turned around and looked at her "Boy you just don't give up, do you Red." He lifted his cane and shot again. This time Ruby wasn't fast enough and embraced herself for impact. But the impact never came and she looked up to see a lady with blond hair tied in a bun. She wore a pair of black leggings and a white shirt. She also wore a purple cape with a crown on it and a pair of glasses. She had her whip lifted and had a shield blocking the impact. Ruby was amazed by the lady and automatically knew she was a huntress. As Ruby quickly got to her feet she started to help the huntress she quickly pulled out her psych and started shooting. As the criminal disappeared a new enemy arose to the door their eyes were blocked but they wore a red dress so Ruby assumed it was a girl. As the huntress quickly used her magic to try and defeat the unknown figure the unknown figure quickly retaliated. Soon the battle ended with the criminals getting away and the huntress and Ruby were left standing there trying to regain their balance. The huntress looked at Ruby and told her to come with her. When Ruby and the huntress got to their location saw an older man walk into the room. As he walked into the room Ruby looked up at him. She watched as he sat down in front of her. He looked at her eyes and had a confused expression. Ruby tilted her head as she look at the man confused. The man said," You have sliver eyes." She looked at him with a tilted head," Yes sir." He looked at her as he pushed a plate full of cookies towards her. Ruby smiled as she saw the plate full of cookies. She looked at the man for permission to dig in he smiled and nodded," Do you know who I am Miss Rose?" Ruby nodded," Yes sir, your Professor Ozpin, you're the head master at Beacon Academy. I was planning on going to your school when I am done at Signal Academy. My sister Yang is going there this year." The man now known as 'Professor Ozpin' smiled," Do you want to come to my school?" Ruby smiled." "More than anything in the world!!!" Ozpin looked up at Glenda (the huntress) , as she sighed," Do whatever you want." Ozpin looked at Ruby as he said," Ok, you can come to my school." Ruby smiled warmly as she hugged Ozpin for she was going to Beacon Academy.
