SNEAK PEEK:

I walked towards the giant tree in the clearing behind my house. I was still unable to identify the type of tree, but one day I will. As I approached the tree, i caught glimpse of a neon green post-it note taped down on the tree.

"Check the hollowed out hole on the side." I walked around the tree to the exposed hole in the bark. I saw a letter addressed to me.

I sat on the overgrown grass that managed to tickle my thighs.

Dear Mila,

It's been 14 years we've been writing to each other. I picture everyday your beautiful face. The color of your eyes, the shape of your nose, the color of your hair, the color of your lips. God I would give anything to see you. I picture how softly your eyelashes would flutter as you grew tired. I would picture your small hands intertwined with my ginormous hands. I would picture the way your hair drapes slowly over your body. The sunlight hitting you ever so lightly, making you glow like an angel. I would picture the perfect little laugh that escapes your mouth when I attempt at being funny. Knock knock jokes are funny right? I would picture your eyes looking deep into mine, reading my every thought and emotion. I would picture your soft, plump lips pressed up against mine with your arms wrapped around my neck. I would picture you everyday. You consume my every thought. It scares me that I have not yet met you. We have so much in common. Dare I say it, but soulmates. When will I ever meet my soulmate?"
