A young Betty Cooper climbed up the wooden ladder of a young Jughead Jone's treehouse. The tree house was small enough to cozily fit 3 people, like Archie, Betty, and Jughead. But today, it was only Betty coming to visit Jughead in his humble little treehouse. Betty reached the top of the ladder and hoisted herself up into the rickety, but fun treehouse in which her and her friends shared so many giddy memories. She looked around its interior; lots of wood, and little leaves peeking out of little nooks and crannies. There was a small shelf in the corner, containing little papers and some books. In the center of the floor was a slightly worn out carpet. There were little pillows around the carpet for the trio to sit on. Betty looked to the corner and saw a crying Jughead. As soon as he noticed she was there, he quickly wiped his eyes and pretended like nothing happened.
"Hey Betts." Jughead said, with a tinge of sadness still in his voice.
"Hey Jug... Are you okay?" She asked, concerned for him.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I don't know what you're talking about." Jughead said, trying to cover up the fact that he was just crying.
"I saw you crying Jug, you don't have to pretend like it never happened. You don't have to pretend around me." Betty said gently. He hesitates; and lets out out a heaving sigh.
"It's just... It's just so difficult Betty. My mom just took Jellybean, and left. And that was that. It hurts really bad. What if I never get to see them again? What if they never want to see me again? What if-" Betty cuts Jughead off.
"She didn't just leave you behind, Jug. She was leaving your father. It was probably just too much for her to handle right now. I honestly doubt that they never want to see you again. Actually, they probably miss you right now!" Betty said, consoling her crying friend.
"Really? You think so?" Jughead says.
"I know so, Juggie." Betty replies.
"Hey Betts," Jughead continues, "Do you promise not to leave me?"
"I would never leave you Jughead."
