Two nations are all that is left after the war that destroyed the earth, the chemicals used in the war destroyed all of the resources unless they were already preserved. Now ten years after the war those resources are almost completely gone.
"As you know the resources that we have left after the war are running low. But we have a solution, a planet almost exactly like Earth exist just outside our solar system. With new technology we have a way of getting there with in an hour but the ship can only carry 200 people." People among the crowd start mumbling to each other "we have decided" the crowd stops "we have decided that the children between the ages twelve and sixteen will go. That means there are only 50 spots available for each age. If you want you're child to survive I ask of you please put youre child's name in the box corresponding to there age. I wish you all luck, if you child's name is chosen they will be on the ship in two days." The crowd rushes to the boxes to put there child's name in. Fighting to put a slip of paper in hoping that there sons and daughters will get the chance to live.
Two hundred children sitting in an untested ship that is supposed to travel at basically light speed to an some unknown planet. "What could go wrong" one girl muttered to herself "what do you mean goldilocks?" A guy with short brown hair asked her "that's not my name and you know it chad" the girl replied "fine than goldilocks let me correct myself" chad fakes a cough "what do you mean sky" he says her name with a stupid tone sky roles her eyes "you realize that we're going to another solar system, something that has never been done. In a untested ship right"
Chad freezes than hears a loud sound 'BOOM' the thrusters yelled causing the ship to shake violently, making Chad scream loud enough for everyone to hear and when he stops he gives them a small chance to laugh before yelling "shut up! All of you" they continued laughing "I'll kill you!" He shakes violently in his seat.
The trip to there new home was short lived taking less time than expected. The ship starts shaking again more so than the last time any conversations that were happening stopped "WERE ALL GONNA DIE" someone panics. The ship starts roaring with the screams of the people"ITS OKAY!" One guy shouted making few become quite "there's supposed to be turbulence when an atmosphere is breached!" His words only heard to some closer by, to others blocked by the panic of there friends and strangers. The ship decides to scare people even more by making a strange humming sound, fire was surrounding the tip of the ship going up making the entire place feel like a boiling pot. The last sound was an ear-splitting crash. They new they had hit the ground. The ship silent, people slowly starting to unbuckled the only thing that kept them safe during the landing. Chad rushed out of his seat swearing at everything around him, running to the door he pulled as hard as he could, suddenly there was a loud click. Air rushed in the ship making a strange sound, people looked at the opening door moving closer. Chad stopped and took a deep breath, pushing the door to the side of the ship listening to it creak. People stared on amazed for the only colours they had known was shades of grey and red but this planet was full of multiple vibrant colours. Everyone made their way out of the ship smiling and laughing. "It's beautiful" sky smiled and walked into her new world
