Finding a Stray

It is 10 at night on August 28th and I'm trying to get ready for bed when I hear my mother call "Liana! Come quick!" Somehow my instincts told me that it was something cat based. So I quickly put on shorts and I walk out onto the front porch where my mom and my aunt are staring at a stray cat.

"Oh my gosh, it's so pretty!" I gawk, looking at the intricate markings that she has, as I was used to regular tabby markings. "It looks like.. A Maine Coon mixed with a Tabby. I mean, it's back end says 'Maine Coon' but it's facial markings say 'Tabby,'" I analyzed out loud.

I reach down to let the cat sniff my hand at a distance, while carefully watching it's body language. The tail didn't seem to be flicking wildly so I offered my hand more closely to it.

"Yeah I just heard a cat meowing and thought maybe one of our cats got out," my drunken aunt tells me. My mom looked pretty drunk too, so I didn't feel like trusting them with this new cat.

I then feel the kitty reach out with it's face to rub itself on me, after that the feline starts being very vocal. Meowing for attention, rubbing all over my legs and pushing it's body into my palm for attention. This had to be a house cat. It had to belong to someone... Maybe someone missed it  just like I was missing my cat, Bear, who had been gone since the twelfth of June. But I could feel the spine and all of the ribs on the sides.. It only looked to be just about a year old and with such a thin body I couldn't imagine how long it had been outside.

My dad then comes out with a can of wet cat food, and when I take it and open it, the cat meows loudly and stands up on it's back paws, I could tell it was starving. I quickly place the can down and pull my hand away, I didn't know if the cat is food aggressive and I didn't want to risk my safety.

Seeing the feline struggle with eating out of the can, I walk inside and grab a glass plate for the cat. When I walk back out I'm confused at how to get the cat away from the can so I can dump the tuna onto the plate. It didn't seem to have rabies, but it still was a question in the back of my mind.

When I placed down the plate, the cat went over to it, thinking that it had more food, so I took that opportunity to grab the canned food from where the cat left it. I slammed it down on the plate, upside-down, so that the contents would easily fall out onto the dish. It immediately went after the food, scarfing it down as if the cat hasn't eaten in weeks, and I could understand with how thin it was.

The cat's tail was held confidently in the air, so I looked to see if the cat was a male or female, judging by my previous knowledge with cats, I figured that the cat is a girl.  Later that night, I posted online if anyone knew of the cat or her owner. And after that, I went to sleep happily, knowing she is safe with us.

Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed the first part of that story, yes this all happened to me in real life. I will post what happened by the day, so some chapters will be short. And I think this will only end up at three chapters.

That's another picture of the cat up at the top, isn't she pretty? We're planning on keeping her.

If you enjoyed it, please like the story and comment down below of your thoughts on this weird situation.
