When II 2at down, he 2miiled. For real. IIt wa2 probably the fiir2t tiime II had 2een hiim do that. But thii2 one wa2 aiimed at me.
Don't get me wrong, II've been on the receiiviing end of hii2 iirriitatiing 2miirk2, fru2trated half-2miile2, and challengiing griin2, but never once have II wiitne22ed a real 2miile.

ED 2eemed happiier today. All day. He wa2 alway2 2miiliing. Not once diid he a2k what he wa2 liike before. He ju2t talked. Liike a normal per2on. IIt wa2 kiinda weiird, but iit wa2 a welcome change from ye2terday. He never 2topped lookiing around, liike he wa2 2eeing our world for the fiir2t tiime.
