The ride to the werewolf kingdom was just as how Jace described it to be, long and exhausting. We could've taken the easy way and used the help of the witch to reopen the portal, but my dad insisted not to do so.

As he said and I quote, 'you're the princess of the witch and demon's kingdom, you're not going to sneak into the werewolf territory like a criminal or a trespasser.'

If truth be told, he did have a point. Some might question as to why me, a royal, walked into the werewolf kingdom without any prior notice. And to top that, using the portal would raise suspicions of witchcraft usage which is banned.

We sat in the limo, with Jace besides me and the other two love birds in front of us. Leila was fast asleep whereas Vixen began dozing off, bored out of his mind with the classical music playing. He looked super cute though, gradually shutting his eyelids then fluttering them back open.

It took me by surprise knowing they'll be traveling with us, but I couldn't have been any happier.

Jace on the other hand was too busy on his laptop, doing whatever he was doing. I caught a glimpse of maps and graphs on his computer screen but didn't pay much attention since I understood none of it.

I was fine with the silence for most of the ride, staring outside the window as we drove past forests. The ongoing presence of tall hundred-year-old looking trees on both sides of the road is definitely fascinating but not surprising at all, seeing that werewolves often love to take runs.

The perfect environment to live it.

It was a deserted road that's for sure, with no trace of cars, not a single vehicle. Strangely though, I noticed an arrow shaped sign on the road's exit with Darkmond written on it.

This wasn't the first sign I observe, sighting one hanging on a previous exit an hour back.

I sighed softly prying my eyes off the window. Leila snuggled closer to Vixen, clutching his arm tighter than before with a peaceful expression on her face.
