Rings To Hell (Being Edited/Rewritten)

Shadows Don't Talk, Do They? Ep. 2

"what was that scream?" Jenna asks trying to calm herself down
"I think it came under in here " Claire responds as she clung to her ring
" okay, uhm... How about we get out of here? "
" great, let's go" Claire stands up and leads the way out
Outside a thick smog was beginning to form, sirens were heard in the distance,
"nice to meet you" Claire says before throwing her ring in the fire and walking off limping
"hey, shouldn't we stay to get checked out " Jenna says throwing her ring in the fire
" I'm fine"
They both walk off in their separate directions. Inside the fire a broken bottle lies on the floor, a shadow spirals over it before turning into a woman, a fire fighter runs in,
"ma'am are you okay? "
" just fine " her smile fades as so her clothes and changes into a dark with blood red streaks dress that flowed lightly down to her knees," you know what they, break a genie's bottle and the genie breaks you" she laughs crazily.

It has been a month since the fire incident and Claire and Jenna have long forgotten about the rings. Claire goes to work every morning as usual and goes home at night completely tired. With no time to date, she becomes a workaholic, everything she feared she'd become. She sits at her desk next to Joey's. She glances over to him,
"hey, do you wanna maybe do something tonight? "
" uhh, my girlfriend and I are going out"
"girlfriend? " she pauses and turns to face him even more," how did I not know of this "
" because it isn't a big deal, we've just been going out for a month or two"
"two months? " she slaps his arm playfully
" give or take a few days"
"omg" she laughs and turns around to see Rebecca in front of her desk
"and is the time appropriate for that kind of discussion? "

" Terr, I can't go stay at Tyler's, it's gonna be weird"
"well you're gonna be late on your rent for this month" she sips her drink and looks around, "and last month"
An awkward silent moment ensues,
"fine, I'll call him tonight" Jenna yields
"you will not" she hands her her phone
"fine" she grabs at it and dials, "hello... She did... She did what!? Thanks" she hands her the phone and laughs, "you already called"
"uhm... No, he lies... Remember " she laughs

" hey, can I come in? " Jenna says to Tyler
" yes you can.. But no you may not" he laughs but Jenna just stares blankly, "I see you still don't like my jokes"
"now that's funny" she pushes her suitcase to him
"this is all you brought"
"that is all I own, that and $35,000.00 from the divorce and years of saving"
"you have that but can't pay your rent? "
" I did, it was originally, a lot more, I had to eat too"
They walk into the living room,
"I got my sister to hire you as her assistant at Jks recording studio"
"you do know Rebecca hates me, right? "
" no, she just needed time"
"like 3 years wasn't more than time"

"great, another morning at work " Claire heads into Claire's office,
" good morning "
" retrieve my mail from the mail room, seems like my assistant got lost"
"your assistant? "
" she just started, now, chop chop "

" I hate this lousy job!"
"nah it's not so bad, "
A familiar voice comes from behind Jenna. She spins around excitedly,
" Claire! "
" Hey, when did you start working here? "
" last week and it feels like forever "
Claire steps inside and suddenly a light flashes from the cart full of mail, and the lights go out, drowning out the light, darkness takes over. One is especially lit and Jenna clenches it in her hand as if to feel what's inside. Suddenly, the door SLAMS! and the girls let out a gut wrenching scream. Claire goes over to the door and turns around looking fustrated.
"typical "
" it's locked? "
" no its open, that's why I'm worried." Claire responds sarcastically and obviously annoyed.
A shadow sneaks in and hits the tray of mail which causes one to fall. Taking it up Jenna feels a hard object inside. She quickly opens it and is surprised to see it is the rings. They each take out one and put it on. A light flashes from the rings and the locks on the door click and the doors open.
"you guys ok?" joey the mail guy which Claire likes but is ashamed because he's poor and she is rich. "yeah did you open the door?" Claire asks, thinking the ring is magic
"no, I've been trying for a long time but with no success. "
" so it just opened? "
" yeah. Weird"
"not really" Jenna says nudging against Claire's arm with her teeth clenched.
Claire jumps up and whispers something to Joey and they walk out together and Claire winks at Jenna and show her the ring. Jenna gets up and goes over to the mail and starts to dig, a hand goes onto her shoulder, "did you forget something?" Jenna says a little startled.
When there is no answer she turns around and is surprised to see a shadow hovering behind her who knocks her unconscious.
