I remember the day I met my best friend like it was yesterday. I remember the way her face lit up when her father handed me to her. I remember the happiness in her voice when she thanked her dad. She carried me around with her everywhere that day. She brought me to school with her, kept me in her bag and checked up on me every time her teacher was distracted. She sneaked me out of the classroom at recess, she told her group of 6 year old friends all about me. She made up an amazing back story about me, one far more boring than my actual life before meeting her. She said I explored the world and went on a new adventure every day. I do wish I had that life, though. It sounded much more exciting than being stuck in a box on a shelf all day and night.
But, one of Jenna's friends was a snitch. She ran over to a teacher, saying that Jenna had a toy in school. Jenna got in trouble and the teacher said I was being confiscated and I would be given back at the end of the day if Jenna was a good girl for the rest of the day. Jenna tried to get me back but it was useless. So, I spended another 3 hours in a teachers room in a box. I hate boxes. I spent enough time in a box before.
But then, at the end of the day, Jenna's teacher gave me back to her. Jenna hugged me and said she was sorry for leaving me all alone. But I didn't mind, I met some interesting toys that had also been confiscated.
Then, she ran outside the school holding my hand. She joined her older brother who was waiting for her and told her all about her school day. How that teacher put me away, and how her friend ratted her out. Her older brother didn't seem to be listening. He nodded and occasionally said "mhm" or "Oh no".
We got home and Jenna put me on the kitchen table, then ran over to her dad. Saying things like "DADDY DADDY! YOU'LL NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TODAY!!!" she also talked about what I thought about today, I didn't like that she put words in my mouth like that, but hey, nobody's perfect.

It's great reminiscing about our first encounter. But how about I tell you about what I'm doing right now?
Well, right now, JENNA'S FOOT IS IN MY FACE.
She slept while cuddling me, like usual, but she loosened her grip in her sleep and I slipped under the covers.
A foot in the face is not a very pleasant thing to wake up to.
