Chapter 24

***Chloe's POV***

Patrick took me on the most romantic date ever! we went out of the city to a giant nature preserve and had a really nice picnic then he took me to a drive in movie. We just sat in the back of his truck under the stars with alot of blankets. It just goes to show that guys dont have to spend a ton of money to make something romantic its more the thought that goes into it.

***fast forward to opening day***

"MEGAN WHAT THE HELL!!!! LET'S GO WE CANT BE LATE FOR OPENING DAY!!!" impatiently waiting by the door in my kane jersey with jean shorts and vans

"hold your horses! im coming!" Megan comes running to the door in her versteeg shirt (she bought it while we were in NY) leggings and converse

"why aren't you wearing your jersey? isn't Tazer going to get mad"

"why would he we aren't together...who even knows if he likes me"

"whatever you say" today is the day that we get Megan to realize that her and toews are meant to be

"aren't you going to be cold in shorts?" she asked pointing at my white jean shorts (to go along with the red jersey of course!)

"no i should be fine. Im not the one who would get cold in a sauna anyway"

"haha so funny!(sarcasm) now lets get going like you said"

***Megan's POV*****

Chloe has been acting wierd all day but I decide to brush it off since when is she not wierd. We weren't allowed to see the guys before the game so we had to wait until after. none of them noticed us during warmups either, they were focused on what they were doing. We played the Wild and we beat them 3-0 great shutout by crawford!

*after the game*

"okay you guys are good to go in now" the security gaurd told us before we entered the locker room

Chloe went straight to patrick. I figured I should go congratulate Corey on his shutout first since he had some AMAZING saves. I was having a nice conversation with him about the game when I hear "Hey Johnny is that your gal wearing my shirt?" I turn to see Kris laughing

"Yes Kris I am wearing your shirt but im not his "gal" so I can wear whoever I want" I walked over to him and nudged him in the arm.

"oooh Tazer I think you just got rejected!"

"eh im used to it from her by now" wait what did he mean by used to it? does that mean he used to like me

"DRINKS AT MY PLACE! LEAVE NOW IF YOU WANT TO GO!" all the guys sprinted out the door Andrew Shaw screamed this "Jon you coming?" he asked

"yeah ill be there soon I just have to do some things real quick"

"ahhh I got you" Andrew winked at him then left....what is going on with everybody

"Megan I can take you back since Chloe already left with kaner"

"yeah thats fine just do what ever you need to do then we can leave" Jonathan nodded and started walking down a hallway

After he had been gone for awhile I made uo my mind that I should go look for him. I thought I looks everywhere for him until I heard noises coming from the rink. I walk over and see Jon taking shooting. I was just going to sit on the bench and watch him, but I saw a pair of skates laying on the floor so I got an idea. I started lacing up the skates (they were really big on me so I had to tie them really really tight)

"so this is what you had to work on huh?" I I stumbled over to him (im not drunk the skates are just big)

"I just had to fix the things I did wrong in the game" he caught me so I would fall "even though we won I still have to fix what I could have done better"

"i used do that when I played volleyball. I was always to last one to leave no matter what the outcome of the game was... we're so much alike its scary" I was staring into his big brown eyes that could make about any girl melt.

it was dead silent for awhile.

"look Megan there's this girl I really really like, I could almost say that I have fallen in love with her, but I dont know if she feels the same way what do you think I should do?"

my heart sank...theres another girl. I knew I should have never gotten close to him, it was only going to hurt me.

I looked away from him "I dont know Ive never really been in a situation like that" I flat out lied to him considering im in that situation "but tell me about this girl i want to know what shes like"

"well she has smile that could make anybody's day and she has long beautiful hair and eyes that anybody could get lost in...oh and she has the biggest heart and the best personality" shit this girl sounds perfect theres no way I would be able to compete with her

"she sounds perfect for you Jonathan I cant wait to meet her" trying my best to hide my disappointment

"you've already met her"

"what do you mean?" I still refuse to make eye contact with him

he grabs my face with both his hands and turns it so im staring into his eyes again "Megan that girl is you. you're crazy if you thought there was really another girl that I was to be with. Ever since I first met you I knew that i wanted to get to know you. you kept putting up walls to shut me out and telling yourself things that weren't true...when you left for Texas I thought u had lost you forever. I love you more than anything and I just want you to be mine" tears started forming in the corners of my eyes

"but why me? you could have any girl you want and you choose me who pretty much only wears sweats when you could have some model"

"because I know you aren't going to use me for my money or who I am and you aren't going to cause drama...but for you to be mine I need to know how you feel"

i didnt say anything all I did was kiss him. I could feel his lips pull into a grin as I pulled away.

"does that answer your question"

"yep"

"I dont know how you did it Jonathan Toews but somehow you worked your way into my life and Im glad you did" I gave him a giant hug (well not giant since he is like twice my size)

"me too and I never want to you to leave my life"

"I dont plan on it so you wont have to worry....what will the guys think of this?"

"are you kidding me they were the ones who pretty much planned this whole thing on getting us alone...well Chloe helped alot too"

"of course she would! im just happy I glad that I figured out what my heart what saying" we just stood there hugging for what seemed like forever.

for some reason I just felt safe in his arms and thats where I belong....
