Water splashes against my leg, seeping into my socks all the way through to my feet. My new white shoes are already dirty with mud. My mother's going to kill me. Skidding around the corner, I wish I could run faster but unfortunately; with a 23 second 100m track record, my legs aren't going any faster.

Pulling my phone out of my pocket I check the time and let out a cry of distress, I'm already late. It's my first day at university and unless the teacher is either really nice or just as late as me - I'm screwed. A bike flashes past me, spraying me with water. Personally, I'm impressed that they haven't fallen off. "Watch where you're going!" I call out to them, I hear faint reply in the distance; something probably along the lines of 'sorry'.

When I finally arrive at my classroom I'm soaking wet, my once clean clothes are now drenched and I look like an absolute mess - what an appealing first impression. A boy stops behind me, clearly he's late too.

The teacher stares at us both, "What is your name young lady and your excuse? You too, Donghyun" I open my mouth to speak but Donghyun beats me to it

"I didn't want to get out of bed this morning, also I thought it was still Sunday." He says nonchalantly, shrugging. It really didn't sound that believable, the teacher laughs leaving me only one option - to gulp.

That doesn't sound very epic does it? To boost my credibility, I can easily say that her laugh is terrifying. It has a certain ringing quality to it and it's scratchy and rough too. Not terribly appealing. She looks at me with her eyebrows raised.

"Kwon Dayoung, I figured my mother was going to take me to school today - since it's raining. Apparently, she woke up sick and I had to run here in the rain." She glances at me, looking me up and down

"Well, whilst both excuses are plausible and probably true; I'm only going to accept Dayoung's because not wanting to get out of bed is not a good enough excuse." Donghyun sighs,

"Miss, by the way, do you know where I can put my bike?" Turning around I spot his bike as well as the mess he's dragged into the building. The teacher audibly sighs and balls her right fist, using he rather hand to point at him

"You, Donghyun, can put it outside at the bike racks. They're literally right outside this window and you can also go to the front desk and ask for some cleaning supplies and clean all the mess you've made in the hallway. As for you, Dayoung, you can help him clean as a punishment for you being late."

"What about the lecture?" I feebly ask, she glares at me

"Just hope you can get the notes later from someone else." She then shows us out the room "Go on, get moving! I have a lecture to present to the kids that actually showed up when they were supposed to." I turn around the face Donghyun

"Sorry." He mumbles "Also, sorry about your clothes that was me as well." I look down at my still wet, muddy clothes.

"Oh, great, just wonderful."

Sitting on the floor scrubbing it clean of mud isn't the way I really want to be spending my morning, but it's what I'm doing. My clothes had been replaced with a bright red striped jacket and pair a black pants; both of which are far to big on me but I didn't have a replacement and this is the best Donghyun seems to have. He still hasn't come back from putting his bike away but I had already scrubbed half of the mud he left on the floor. As I keep on scrubbing I hear footsteps. Looking up I spot Donghyun making his way over to me,

"It's Dayoung, right? Sorry to make you wait." He crouches down next to me and picks up the cloth next to me "I guess I should start scrubbing." He laughs, but I can't really find it in me to laugh back. I'm completely exhausted, and it's easily his fault.

"I hate you." I mumble whilst scrubbing at a particularly stubborn mud stain

"Why?" Donghyun looks up for a moment, tilting his head to the side before looking back down and paying attention to what he's supposed to be doing "I'm lovely." I laugh in disbelief; he's shameless.

"Lovely?" I comment and he nods before grinning at me

"Wouldn't you say I'm lovely?"

"So you think spraying me with water and taking your sweet time to put your precious bike away, leaving me to clean half of this by myself is lovely?" Donghyun laughs,

"Of course not, but I don't do this all the time." I roll my eyes at him "No seriously, upsetting pretty girls is never on my to do list." He winks at me, leaving me no choice but to look at the floor out of embarrassment. He may not have left a good first impression on me, but he did call me pretty. Determined to not let him get to me, I look back up.

"That's a relief." I reply

"How are you planning on getting the notes for the class?" He asks me, probably in an attempt to keep the conversation going

"I don't know, I don't have anyone in there that I know." Donghyun snorts,

"I figured as much." I glare at him

"Back to your point about you being lovely, assuming that I have no friends isn't lovely."

"You have a point, but I figured that if you have no friends that I can offer friendship." I drop the cloth into the bucket by accident.

"I don't need your friendship, though." Donghyun takes the cloth out and squeezes away the excess water before placing it back into my hand

"I know that, but you'll be able to get the class notes since I do have a friend in that class. Also, keep cleaning."

"These are all the notes from the lecture." Donghyun pushes the book towards me, looking up from my salad I blink at him

"I'm sorry, what?"

"The notes from the lecture we missed, I got them from my friend." He pushes the book closer

"Did I not say that I don't want your friendship?" I say with my eyebrows raised

"You did say that, but I got the notes and saw you eating over here - nice salad by the way - so I decided to nice and give them to you." He grins, I pick up the book and stuff it into my bag

"Do you want this back at a particular time?" Donghyun shrugs,

"It's my friends so I don't know when he'll be needing it next. I guess you could just bring it back tomorrow I'm sure he won't mind."

"That works, thanks, bye." I wave my hand in an attempt to shoo him away but instead he stays where he is. "Are you leaving?" He shakes his head,

"Not yet, I just realised my friend might need his book again today. Except, I'm not sure."

"So?" I ask,

"I think it would be a good idea if we swap phone numbers or something like that," my jaw drops "that way if he does need his book, I can just tell you."

"You've got to be kidding me, just come find me or something." I spit, he grins mischievously

"But what if I can't find you?" If there wasn't a salad right below me I'd slam my head into the table; sighing I pull out my phone, unlock it and shove it in his direction

"Go on, add yourself somewhere." He claps and then passes me his phone, entering in my contact information quickly and simply I pass his phone back to him. Donghyun, on the other hand, appears to be taking his time. "What are you doing?" I try and look at what he's doing but he moves so I can't see.

"You'll see." He pauses for a second "So you want me to add a picture or something? So I have a contact image? Actually don't answer I'll do it anyway." Rolling my eyes at him, I sigh. He finally hands my phone back, "Okay done! I'll be leaving now."

"Finally." I mutter, shoving a piece of lettuce into my mouth.
