Paradise

The end of a friendship

We were coming to the end of the motorway and we could see the wall in the distance I slowed down before coming to a stop before the bridge we had to cross to get to the wall. I turned around to see a blonde 7 year old girl and a 46 year old woman with green eyes. "I never thought to ask at first but..." I pauswd before carrying on " are any of you infected?" At first they were silent before Samantha spoke "I didn't want Sally to worry I'm sorry" now it was my time to be shocked but it didn't last long "how far is it" she looked down before responding "I'm near the last stage I've been feeling cold for a week now" I looked down then opened the door "Sally get out" she looked confused then her mother nodded she got out and stood near the car I then grabbed max and pulled his face close to mine I rubbed my nose against his and tears fell down my face "I love you max more than anything" I turned to Sally "I want you to walk to the wall and go with the people there take max with you as well" she nodded and they both started walking.

Random soldier  P.O.V
All that was heard was two gun shots I then looked out on the bridge to see a little girl with a dog when she was close enough I looked at my radar wich detects the infected and she lit up on it without thinking I raised my gun aimed and shot. The little girl fell and her blood was sprayed across the floor the dog began to whine and nudge the girl with his nose I looked to the others and shouted to them "get the dog he seems fine he could be useful" we ran to the dog but his head perked up he whined once more then nudged the girl again before taking off in the other direction we chased him to the end off the bridge before stopping and watching him run off into the distance. I was about to return to the wall before a distant shout could be heard and I could just work out what was said...
