I was getting ready to go to college to meet up with my friends when I heard a knock on the front door.

I frown. Mom and dad still on what I dubbed as one of their many 'Love tryst Adventure'. This year they went to the Mount Everest to try and conquer it. It call us, said them. I say they are just some adrenaline junkies. they just love taking it into another new level, doing extreme stuffs or go out for some adventure.

I still remember them bringing me along to Amazon when I was seven. Teaching me how to survive in jungle and how to defend myself. Father has always trained me with different mix of martial arts but when its Survival camping time? He taught me how to wield all kind of weapons. How to hunt and all that jazz.
"Is this even legal? Isn't it wrong to let kids touch sharp or dangerous thing?" I whine and wave the dagger.  He barked out laugh. He pat my head and messed my hair. I pouted and tried to evade another pat.
"it is but I know you know how to use your noggin'. I just want to increase the survival rate of my own daughter."
"I think you are trying to decrease it. I'll die before I even learn these." He grin and tap his chest.
"Well, you have an awesome dad. That will never happen. I will protect you."

It's a burden to have two eccentric and weird parents. But even so, it doesn't lessen even a drop of my love toward them.

"yes? Who is it?" I asked before opening the door.
"Alexandra Rose?  We're from the police department."
My heart, my god... my heart drumming faster and sweat broke out my skin. I had a bad feeling about it and my hand stop an inch shy from the door knob.

I was afraid to know what news they bear. I turn the knob and open the door slowly. I don't know how I look but I sure as hell knows how the policemen look at me. One of them had lift their hat and put it on their chest.

I heard a familiar loud sound of motorbike. Uncle Jackson.  He ran toward us with a panic and striken look. The same expression wore by the guy in uniform in front of me.
"No. please tell me its not what I think it is."
"I am sorry to inform you.. your parents got involve in avalanche at Everest last thursday. They are still trying to find them but at this rate, it is impossible for them to survive it. They dont-"
"Spare the girl from the details." Cut uncle Jackson, slipping in and wrapping my shoulder into his arm.
"May we know what is your relationship with this girl?"
"I am her father's good friend and her god father."
"Then, may we have a moment with you?" He nodded. He look at me giving me apologetic smile before patting my shoulder and went with the policemen, away from me.

I look around, loss for words. No... they can't be dead. But they said the avalanche happened last thursday. That was two days ago and they still hadn't found them..

I ran back inside and took my phone. I tried calling their cell but no one picking up. Then I google the latest news and found that there were indeed an avalanche last thursday. Dad and mom went together with a group of hikers. there were twelve of them and two barely survived, giving a list of people who were with them. Five dead bodies were found and another five still missing.

"NO!!!! NO!!! NO!!!"
I took the nearest chair on me and bash it on the wall. I fling the vase of flowers on the dinning table away. All crashing and breaking sound echoes around the empty house. They came running to see me.

"My parents can't be dead." I glare at them, feeling the beginning of tremor from my body to my limbs.
"They can't be." I close my eyes, hot streaming tears trailing down my cheeks.
"Please.. somebody..." I gulp down the sobs that threaten to come out. "Please tell me they are not dead..." I said in a broken whisper from my breaking soul and heart.
"i am sorry... Our condolences"

My shaking legs lose it strength and I fall down on the floor, breaking apart. Lost and helpless.

It felt like somebody came punching into my chest and left a large gaping hole in me.

I cried my heart out, locking tightly their last smiles in my mind..
