"It's a bad idea, Lanta" The fluffy orange fox warned her sister. "Well, I don't see a problem with it" She replied, glancing at Naomi. Her eyes showed deep wisdom, the deep pools of blue challenging the other fox. "I see.. but a wolf? I mean, are you sure?" Her green eyes where troubled, staring at her sister in disbelief." Listen, Naomi." She murmured, pressing her white muzzle to her sister's fur, comforting the fox. "I'll be fine. Mother taught me how to defend, but you met him. It's okay, I'll be fine"
Lanta laid on the cold floor of her large stone den, a small bundle of fur resting on her tail. It snores softly, tiny eyes shut. Lmta proudly gazed at her pup, smiling. She curled around her protectively. "Mist" The Orange and white fox whispered softly into her ear, slowly falling into a deep sleep.
The fox was woken up at about midnight, the moon visible though the hole in the roof of her den. Parting her lips into a snarl, the mother glanced around for who or even what made the noise.
Then she saw it. A gray face peeking through the vines that covered the mouth of the cave. Mist slowly stood u, careful to not hurt or wake her pup. She glanced at the tiny, snoring mix and let out a sigh of relief.
"Hey, Lan-" The gray wolf way cut off. "Why weren't you here for me, Stone?" The furious fox growled to him. "Now come on, Lanta. Be reasonable" "Be reasonable. Come on Lanta. One more chance Lanta . Hold on, Lanta. I'm tired of it, Stone. I've had enough" Stone's gray face turned cold. "I want to stay, and I want that pup. And I get what I want." He said, the taller wolf holding his head way above Latnta's. The fox strained to look up at him, growling. "Get out nos. I won't allow you to be anywhere around Mist!"
The tiny pup shifted, waking up with a whine. Stone walked over th his daughter, nosing her. Lanta parted her lips in a snarl, running in front of Mist. Stone glared at her, pet starting to prickle with anger. Lanta swiped at his muzzle, creating a nasty gash. Stone growled, biting mist on her chest
Lanta yelled in pain. About t swipe again, she could scent another fox approaching. Uickly, Stone ran off.
The face was her sister. Now Naomi saw Lanta, a limp pile of fur curled airing Mist. Naomi gasped, running out of the den. The younger fox soon retired with another fox. She was white, with faded blue eyes and a nice smile upon her face. Spotting Lanta, she ran over to her, quickly patching her up.
A few years later, Mist tumbled out of her den. The cool spring air ruffled her orange and gray fur. She looked around, quickly spotting a group of foxes. They looked at Mist. "That's her" One of them whjspered. Confused, the wolf-fox tilted her head. "I'm Mist..." They 'll grew disgusted faces. Mist lowered her head. "G away, you dirty wolf!" They shouted, their tones sharp.
Mist walked away, and sat under a willow tree, shoulders slumped. She sighed. "Dpnt let them get to you" A voice behind the tree startled her. "Hi, I'm Dark" The voice said, a fox appearing from around the tree. His orange and white fur was fluffy, and shiny in the sunlight. His green eyes showed sorrow for Mist. "I'm Misr" She finally replied, expecting the same reaction. But Dark simply sat down by her. "Wanna play?" He asked, eyes twinkling in excitement. She nodded, and the two chased each other around.
They went to the lake to drink and cool off. Mist seemed to be deep in thought, the young fox wolf staring at the lake. "Are you alright? " Dark's voice startled her for the second time that day. "Just thinking about my father" She murdered, laying her head down. Dark was about to say something, but a female's voice rang out. "Dark! Come home" The fox bounded off. "Bye Mist!" He called
After some more lake visits, these two have become best friends...
