Hey guys! This is my first ever Harry Potter fanfic, so if I get a few details wrong, I'm sorry. It's been over a year since I've last read the whole series, and about 6 months since I last watched a HP movie, so sorry if im a bit rusty. I have gotten a bit obsessed with HP fanfics recently, so I decided to give a go with one myself. :) Also if you want to make a cover for me, I gladly welcome you to ❤️ I will definitely shout you out & give you full credit!

DISCLAIMER: I do not own ANY of the recognizable plot line or characters. It all belongs to J.K. Rowling and I've just got it from reading and watching her Harry Potter series.

P.S. Luna & Draco are in the same year here , (year 7). I know Luna should be in year 6 but I just wanted to make it easier so she could have classes with others (Neville, Harry, Draco, etc.)

"Luna dear, please hurry, we'll miss the train!" My father, Xenophilius, called from downstairs.

"Coming!" I call back with my light, singsong voice. I grab my trunk and take one last look at myself in my long full length mirror located in the corner of my brightly colored bedroom.

I was leaving home and returning back to Hogwarts to redo my 7th year, along with many others who participated in the Battle of Hogwarts. A lot of students had transferred to other magic teaching schools after what happened in Hogwarts last year. Their parents were too afraid to let them go back. My father had suggested having me switch schools, but I assured him I'd be completely fine. He is so scared of letting me go, especially after I was kidnapped and held for months by Voldemort and his death eaters.

It wasn't only a scarring experience for him though. I feel as though something in me has changed. I'm not as happy as I used to be. I'm not as hopeful, or jolly. I'm always nervous and paranoid. I'm scared to sleep in my own bed. Although I know Voldemort is dead and it's all over, I can't help but be on alert at all times.

I see the world in a whole different perspective, especially after experiencing a full on battle and seeing so many people die. I still have nightmares every night about Fred. Molly is always there, crying over his body. George is always there too, looking at him and screaming over and over again. Then there's Ron, who's always looking at me and yelling "Luna! Help him! Help him!". I can't answer, I can't move, I can't save him.

I know I wasn't ever Fred's best friend, but I always liked him. He was ever so jolly, always smiling, never sad. He never teased me, or thought me to be weird. He was nice. And now he was dead.

I push the thought of Fred to the back of my mind and walk out of my room and down the stairs where my father was waiting. I could tell he was nervous. He kept fidgeting with the rings on his fingers and his forehead was sweaty. He pushed a loose hanging strand of his long white hair behind his ear and grabbed my hand. "Are you ready to go, darling?"

"Yes." I reply.

"Are you sure you want to go back there? After everything?" He asks, in a high pitched voice. I squeeze his hand tightly.

"I'll be fine, I promise." I say. "It's over, papa. He's gone and I'm safe at Hogwarts okay?"

He nods his head and squeezes my hand as a reply. A second passes of silence before I feel us lifting off the ground and the apparation takes over us.

We fall into a very crowded King's Cross station. Platform 3/4 is completely packed with parents and students who are rushing to say goodbye to their families and get onto the Hogwarts Express, who is waiting patiently for everyone to board.

"Okay, it's time for you to go Luna." He says with his nervous voice. "I didn't want you to return, but I know it's what you want and I love you and I want you to be happy. But please Luna, be careful, and stay out of trouble."

I nod and give him a small smile. "Like I said papa, I'm safe okay? I'll be fine. I love you and I promise to write you all the time." He smiles back and gives me a big hug.

I say bye one last time before turning away and rushing onto the train. I look around and see many familiar faces, but no one I wish to sit with. I decide to sit by myself when I slide open an empty compartment. I get in and close the door.

Before I could even sit down, the door slides back open. I whirl around and I'm met with a very familiar pair of green eyes.

"N-Neville." I stutter, surprised and flustered. I knew I would eventually see him, but I didn't think it would be this soon. I wasn't prepared.

"Uh, hey Luna." He says, scratching the back of his head and standing awkwardly. "Sorry. Wrong compartment."

"It's fine." I say, shifting nervously. We were only a foot away, and I had a big urge to just step forward and hug him. After all, I hadn't seen him since the Battle of Hogwarts. But I knew I couldn't. I knew he didn't want me to. He's moved on.

"Uh well, I better erm, get going." He says, snapping me back to reality.

"Okay. See you... later." I say. He waves and then walks away, out of sight. I let out a huge breath and proceed to quickly closing the door again and sitting down.

Tears rushed to my eyes and I blinked them back. I couldn't cry. I have to be strong. After endlessly crying myself to sleep for so many nights over him, I'm done. I don't want to be heartbroken anymore.

He broke up with me after the Battle of Hogwarts was over. He told me things have changed, and his "experience" has made him different. It made me different too, but that didn't mean I stopped loving him. I kept thinking to myself after that, how could he outgrow our relationship? Was it because he killed Nagini and so I wasn't strong or cool enough for him anymore?

No matter how many times I asked myself this question, I couldn't figure it out. And so I was left in the dust, confused and heartbroken.

"Malfoy! What are you still doing out here with your trunk? You should be sat down already. And what is that?"

"Sorry Professor McGonagall. I can't find anyone who will sit with me without cowering in the corner or trying to start a fight with me. Oh and this is Bax."

Two voices come from outside my compartment. I recognize them to be McGonagall and Malfoy's.

"Bax?" McGonagall says questioningly. "Well alright. Just sit in this compartment here, I don't think anyone's in it, there's no noise." I immediately stiffen up. Is she talking about the compartment I'm in? "Well go on before I kick you off this damn train!"

I hear the clicks and clacks of McGonagall's feet walking away. A second later, the door slides open and Draco Malfoy is standing in the doorway with a large trunk and a brown toad. He looks surprised to see me.

"Hello, Luna." He says.

"Hi Draco."
