I was watering the plants in front of the house,when I looked up and saw my cat sitting in the drive way, he began to walk across the road when I saw a truck turn the corner and it wasn't slowing.My cat remained frozen in place as the vehicle kept going,I don't know,maybe the driver didn't see him.I ran out into the road to save my cat,but just before I reached him,he jumped out of the way,I however has not so fortunate.I woke up in the hospital the next day,my parents at my bedside.It looked as though I had broken my leg.The truck driver was deeply sorry and said he had been terribly tired and probably fell asleep after turing the corner,that being the last thing he remembers.My parents were greatly upset,but agreed not to press charges.When my mother asked me what happened,I told her I saw my cat about to get hit,and on instinct went to save him.My mother gazed at me with a confused expression,but what she said next I will never forget.
"Honey,he was sleeping in your room the whole time."
