Darkness. You don't realize what darkness is until you actually feel it. It's not just a thing you see, its something you feel. It creeps into you, squeezing your lungs until you're lifeless. You hear it. No not mesmerizing sounds but the sound of blackness, loneliness. It surrounds you. Watching and whispering to you in whatever you do.
My mind races trying to remember how I got here. I reach my hands out groping the nothingness in front of me. Nothing. Panic overcomes me and I feel a warm tear start to run down my pained cheek. I bring my hand to my face and I get a whiff of something. Not food. Not me. What was it?
I finally regain the strength in my legs to move. I take 3 steps in front of me and feel something brush against my leg. Did it move? Or was I imagining things? I take a step backwards and crouch down. My hands swept the floor. I brushed something, sending chills up my spine. I tried to identify what I had just felt but my mind was still panicking and I came up with nothing. I stood back up regaining the confidence to keep walking. Its almost an eery feeling, not being able to see. Hear. Breath. I continue to walk bumping to more unidentified objects, in every way I turn. I feel my foot catch on something, and I feel myself sprawling in the air until I hit the ground. The darkness succumbs me and I pass out.
