Enrique and Javy (both played by Enrique Gil) are twin brothers. Their one childhood memory of their mother is that of a medicated cold bedbound woman, whose only words were that "in this world Javy is the only one Enrique can rely on and Enrique is the only one Javy can rely on".
One day Enrique meets Julia, an introvert and a gentle girl, in a park where he asks her for directions. She draws the directions for Enrique on the back of one of her sketches of a mother and child. Enrique seeing her quietly drawing on a park bench reminds him of Javy and becomes attracted to her. When Quen saves Julia from being sexually harassed by their English teacher, she starts to open up to him. In exchange for the finished painting of 'Mother and Child', Quen promises to protect her.
