"Hey, Jess. It's me Rosie, just wanted to check in on you and ask how you are. I'll be expecting your call soon, bye."

Delete.

"Hiya, Jess! It's me Rosalind, your bestfriend! I've called you about 15 times now, be sure to call me back after you've received these voicemails! Bye."

Delete, what even was that?

"Hi, Jess. Let's be friends again. Bye."

Delete, too desperate.

Whatever, I'll just go with the first one. It was a Saturday afternoon and I had gone binge watching shows on Netflix and painting my nails, which failed by the way. I hadn't moved from this spot for about 30 good minutes now.

I finally get up, deciding I had  to have a meal in order to survive. I stretch clumsily, knocking down the pencil on my bedside. As I run down the stairs, holding onto the railings, I smell the familiar scent of Dad's perfect sausages.

I immediately open the door," Sausages?"

Dad glances behind his back, looking at me with a smile plastered onto his face.

"Where's Jackie?" I ask, suddenly remembering that I hadn't seen her all day. He shrugs his shoulders, "I think she went shopping,"

As if on cue, Jackie bursts through the door with a load of shopping bags in her hand.

I sit down next to Jackie with a plate of sausages, beans and mash. Jackie had been out for 3 hours and Dad says he didn't know where she went. That is, until she came home eventually. "Where did you go, then?" Dad questions, taking a bite into his sausages. Jackie scratches her head.

"I went shopping, bought a few clothes for Penny and went to return that awful dress that I thought looked nice online." She chuckles.

Dad also smiles, nodding his head. "You're our Superwoman here aren't you? Helping with the shopping and all," He takes a few seconds then continues, "Actually you're a bit like Wonder woman. Because when I get home from work I'm wondering where my woman's gone."

We all burst out laughing, including Penny.

I lazily lift up my head from my desk, the school bell ringing in my ears. I rubbed my eyes, allowing a yawn to escape my lips. Realising it was the end of Calculus, I quickly gather up my equipment and dump them in my pencil case.

I can't believe I slept in class.

That class was probably half my grade. Mentally face-palming myself, I make my way to my next class which was English Lit. As I reached up to open the door, I could already see through the glass door the back of Nick's head.

I walked up to him talking to another girl that I hadn't seen before. He looked up to me and smiled, then stopped his conversation with the blonde girl to talk to me.

"I didn't know you took English Literature." He said, calm and coolly. When I was about to speak, the door opened suddenly. I look to my left, curious as to who was here.

My eyes lock with his hazelnut ones.

Jayden, of course.

Wasn't this lesson going to be fun?

Half way through the lesson, we were told to read a book named, "His Flower" and debate on one the character's actions.
