Anxiety closed the door, an inaudible sigh escaping his lips. His day had been rough, as always, with Princey and Logan constantly trying to contradict or outdo everything he did or said. As far as those two were concerned, he was nothing but trouble and dark makeup. Morality was usually better, but even he was unfair towards the darker trait at times.
As Anxiety walked towards his bed, he looked around his room, once again taking in the paintings the decorated his walls. The easternmost wall had an extremely life-like painting of Morality, in all his dad friend-ish adorable cinnamon rollyness. (A/N what did i just write) Surrounding this painting was more paintings, one of each of the traits happiest memories. There was, first and foremost, the one of him getting his cardigan on his first day as a trait. He'd have been about 3 at the time, the same age as Thomas had been when the dad-like side had first appeared.
On the southern side was Logan. His wall had paintings as well, but his happiest memory was one of him getting his "room", something which all the traits had, one for each. Logan's happiest memory had been a library which had a small lab over on one side.
To the west was Prince's wall. the creative trait had the second most paintings out of the four, beaten only by Morality. His happiest memory was the one of him killing his first dragon and saving the princess that had been locked in the tower it had guarded.
Finally, to the north, was Anxiety's wall. His wall as shorter than the others, due to the fact that he didn't have even half as many memories as the other three. Where theirs were up to twenty feet long, Anxiety's was ten feet across, and six feet tall, and the white background paint was flaking off in all the places not occupied by cracks. Where there was at least fifty memories on each of the others walls, Anxiety's had only three, and so less than a quarter of his wall was filled.
He gently placed his hand against the largest, and happiest memory, the one of the only movie night he'd ever been invited to. As he touched it, smells and sounds washed over him from that night. The faint scent of popcorn rose out of the chaos, the sound of the others (and his own) laughter just reached his ears, sounding distant, faded.
As the memories faded out of his senses, the darker trait moved his hand to the next painting. This one took place on his first day as a full trait, the memory of him getting his jacket. Muffled sounds once again came through, this time of the others yelling "Ta-daaaaaaa!" The voices sounded as though they were underwater, low and faded, yet they still gave Anxiety a gentle feeling of joy. There was a distant scent of Morality's cookies, fresh from the oven.
The memory faded way too fast. Finally, Anxiety was at the last memory. This one showed the anxious trait sitting in the bay window located in the commons, listening to the thunder and watching the rain fall. As he touched it, he heard distant thunder and the distorted sound of rain against glass, mixed with an equally distorted and warm smell of rain. (You know what I'm talking about if you've ever stood outside like, right before a storm? Yeah, that.)
The sensation of being summoned pulled at his gut and the anxious trait let himself be summoned. The physical world seemed to suck his energy lately, but it'd be even more tiring to try to resist.
"Whaaat?" Anxiety said, slightly confused. All the others were already present, no surprise there, but what was Anxiety doing there? He was never summoned, not unless someone was blaming him for something or other, or maybe they wanted something.
