"Hey, dad. Blake and I will be in my room, okay?" Jacob says to his dad.
"Sure.. But, uh... Jacob.." he says, hesitantly.
"Yeah?"
"Keep the door open," he says, giving Jacob a very serious look. With that, he rushes up the stairs as I follow.
When we get up stairs, he opens his door and gestures for me to go inside.
"Ladies first," he says with a smirk. I walk in and take a seat on his (very comfortable) queen sized bed.
"Do you remember when I used to come over and we would sit in your room and play video games for hours upon hours?" I ask.
"Of course. My mom still loves you," he says, smiling his contagious smile.
"What about Lane and Hunter?"
"Yep. Logan's got a little thing for you, too,"
"Aww. So what's the deal with Lane and Hunter, then?"
"Oh, gosh. Lane checks my phone everyday to see if we've been talking. Then, everytime Hunter comes home, he asks about you. He has a girlfriend, yet he's still in love with you,"
"He has a girlfriend? Does she know?" I ask, surprised.
"No. She doesn't know. He's coming home today," he says. He picks up his phone and texts Hunter. He hands the phone to me to read the text.
-Hey, how long until you come home? You have a visitor.
"Nice," I say, handing the phone back to him. The phone vibrates not long after that.
"About 30 minutes. Who is it?" Jacob reads.
"Are you going to tell him?" I inquire.
"Nahh. He'll rush and get hurt," he answers. We hear the door slam and Jacob's mom talking.
"Lane's back from football," he says.
I hear Lane sprinting up the stairs. He doesn't look into Jacob's room, but goes straight into his own. (Changing out of his sweaty clothes, I hope.)
"Dang, baby" Jacob says, obviously trying to get Lane's attention.
"Who are you manipulating now, Jacob?" Lane teases.
"Nobody special," Jacob says.
Lane immediately opens his door and walks in. When he sees it's me his jaw drops.
"BLAKE!" he cries. He picks me up and gives me a tight hug.
"Ouch," I mutter.
"Where have you been? I haven't seen you in 2 years! You've only gotten prettier. What are you doing with this player?" Lane says all in one breath.
"Well, I haven't gone anywhere. And thank you? Also, Jacob and I aren't together," I answer.
"Really? I never understood why y'all never dated. C'mon, let's go," Lane says, taking my hand.
"Hey! Don't go taking my friends," Jacob says.
Oh no.
