Before starting his journey back to his mini hut, he buyed some rations and vegetables which could at least last a day or two,well lasting for day doesn't mean three times meal a day nor does he has such a appetite but still they were enough. On his way back when he was just minutes walk away from his hut he came upon a injured rabbit. On closely looking he realize that its a baby rabbit and is been bitten by some wild animal on his leg may be a wild cat. Despite being living in the middle of a forest there was no danger of large carnivores wild animals may be some wild cats sometimes enter there while chasing their prey but they are harmless, and seeing that little rabbit injured he can came to only one conclusion that its a work of wild cat.
Tearing small piece of cloth from his already tattered cloth he bends to tie it on his rabbits injured leg, rabbit was already whimpering in pain and only has wanted to get ride of this pain but still sensing approaching man he tried to scurry away but failed due to his injured condition. Seeing rabbit whimpering and trying to get away from him he realized how scared that little rabbit is, so he scoop that rabbit gently in his palm and starts stroking him on his belly so that he can calm down. When old man saw that little rabbit has relaxed he tied the cloth piece, put that rabbit in the basket and after covering it with same jute cloth he finally made his way to his hut.
After reaching home old man made paste of medicinal leaf that he has plucked on his way he applied it on rabbits injured leg and again tied the cloth piece there, by the time he was over with tending to rabbits injury it has already dozed off and sleeping soundly on his lap. He put the rabbit on jute mattress and used same mattress to cover little rabbit. After eating and doing dishes he retired for bed and finally end his current day. Next day when he woke up he saw that little rabbit is already awake and lying on mattress peacefully, eyeing him as if he is thanking old man for saving his life. Before starting his new day old checked rabbit's wound, re-bandaged it and finally stroked at his belly as comforting gesture. Since there were no more wild leafs in his farm land he decided to visit usual spot in forest where he would always go in search of fruits and collect some herbs when there nothing in his farm land or he was unable to travel upto daily market or if weather would not allow to go there.
