Chapter II

"ELLIE , JACKSON" Stanley shouted from the outside of his home as it was slowly falling apart. People running around screaming. "Stay here princess, I'm gonna find my family". Lucia nodded and stood by the two horses near the home now slowly bursting into flames. Stanley ran inside in search of his wife and son."STANLEY" his wife shouted. Stanley ran to the room and saw his wife and son on the bed in tears as she gathers random objects." come now we must leave and find a safer place." Stanley grabbed his son and wife and quickly ran outside finding Lucia on the horse now. Elli looks at Lucia and smiles but soon realizes her parents weren't around." Where are the king and queen? "Elli ask looking at her husband." I will explain later but now we must leave." He responds helping his wife up on the horse along with his son as he and Lucia ride on the other horse."follow were I go." He says looking at his wife as she nods." HA."he shouts as both horses begin prancing out of the village across the bridge to the woods. Lucia turns back to see the castle fall apart. The blazing fires of the whole town and castle slowly rushing into to flames are now reflecting in her eyes, now leaving a horrific image in her mind.
~10 years later~
"Ha you suck",Lucia said to Jackson as her and him continue sword fighting. Lucia and Jackson were a year apart making Lucia 16 and Jackson 17.Stanley came out as he watch his son and the princess play fight with the swords. Lucia puts her sword up , and quickly moves it towards Jackson as Jackson blocks it with his sword. " whoa to close their."Jackson said as he moves the sword away. "Why don't you guys take a break and come inside for some food."Stanley says. "Alright", they both agreed before putting the swords back into their pouches. Jackson runs to the door and held it open before bowing down slightly."after you my queen", he says smiling at Lucia. "Why thank you" she smiles back and enters the house with Jackson following behind her. Lucia walks towards the table as Jackson closes the door behind him." Jackson don't say that word to loud now" his father says."why not? no one knows anyways, and no one will think to much of it either father." Stanley looks at his son then to Lucia." Yes , but some will think of it and some have seen us when we came to this Village. My armor was quite shiny and Lucia still had her crown on as well." "Well it was dark when we arrived here" Lucia said while staring at the pendent from her necklace in her hand. "You're right Lucia but anyone could've seen us and we don't want anyone to know who you are."Ellie said." Yes it's for your-""safety", Jackson and Lucia said cutting of Stanley ,looking at each other and giggling "I know it's for my safety sir , and I know if anyone finds out the evil queen will as well. Even if she does I will always honour this village as if it were my old home."Stanley smiled before handing her a plate of food." Your as alike as your father.""an as lovely as your mother was"Ellie joins in while handing Jackson a plate as well." Thank you mother" Jackson says. As they all begin to eat they hear shouting from outside. Lucia looks at everyone at the table before getting up and running outside."please stop don't , that's all I have left." A middle aged lady said"oh is it?" The man said before pushing her and taking her things"HEY LEAVE HER ALONE"Lucia shouted, getting closer to the man who also seemed middle aged." And what exactly will a witty child like you do?"He said."Come close and find out , yeah?" She said as he puts the basket he took from the lady down beside him. Lucia walked closer. As she reached for the basket the man grabbed her wrist, reaching for what was in his pocket and tugged at lucia. Lucia swiftly moved her arm and turned behind him now grabbing the mans wrist ,putting his arm behind his back and kicking the back of his leg making him kneel to the ground. She grabbed what was in the mans pocket now noticing it was a knife and quickly put it against the mans neck lightly. "careful not to make a move or you'll get hurt. And next time you decide to steal remember this day, yeah? She spoke clearly in his ear." LUCIA" Stanley called out walking towards the situation. Stanley picked up the basket and handed it back to the lady as Lucia moved away from the man. Before the man could run Stanley pushed him against his chest with one hand." Do such an act again and you'll be sorry". The man walks away turning back giving Lucia a dirty look. Lucia sticks her tongue out at him then looks to the lady." Thank you ,truly" the lady says. " Anytime my lady"Lucia smiles." Your brave act reminds me of king Harold. May him and the queen both rest in the heavens" Lucia smiles at her again then looks down and frowns." The lady watches Lucia's expression." Thanks again but I must get home to my children." The lady bows holding both sides of her dress up slightly, before walking off. " come now Lucia before your plate gets cool." They beginning walking back to the house , Lucia putting the small knife in her pocket." That was pretty courageous of you might I say."Stan says opening the wooden door to their home. " it was wasn't it?" Lucia said entering and sitting back at the table." Are you done being a badass princess?"" Yes Jackson I'm done being badass" Jackson smiled at her before laughing." You'll protect this whole town one day, you'll see."Ellie said. " And I plan on it too El" Lucia responded.
~later that night~
Lucia enters her room lighting up the candles on her night stand. She puts her hand in her pocket taking out the small knife putting it down on her night stand. She glances at her self in her mirror beside her night stand and notices the reflection of the knife behind her. She turns around and picks up the knife ,slowly examining it. The name "Charles" carved into the wooden handle of the knife." Charles?" She whispers to herself. " what was that" Lucia jumped startled by Ellie's words. " sorry didn't mean to startle you" she giggled. " it's fine El." " so what was that you were saying?" "Oh it's nothing just this" Lucia looks down to the knife." May I?" Lucia hands the knife to Ellie , now her examining the knife."Charles" Ellie says with her eyes a little wide." Is something wrong?" " no nothings wrong Lucia it's just..such a common name, haha.." Ellie says. Handing Lucia the knife."okay well I just wanted to say goodnight my queen"."queen?",lucia questions." Yes queen, and I know you'll make a perfect one some day""aw thanks" " GOODNIGHT LUCIA" Jackson says quickly running by her room in his trousers"JACKSON PARDON BUT I DONT WANNA SEE YOU IN YOUR TROUSERS" "THESE ARE THE BEST TROUSERS YOU WILL EVER SEE PRINCESS"Ellie laughs as she closes the door behind her and leaves lucia alone in her room. Lucia changes and blows out all the candles before laying in her bed and falling asleep.
~in Stanley and Ellie's room~
"Love" , Ellie says walking into the room Yes Ellie?" "Have you seen the knife Lucia holds?" "The one from earlier?" "Yes the one she forgot to give to that man" " she did good by not giving it back , he could've ran off and harmed someone!" Ellie stops for a moment and stares at Stan." True but That's not the point , anyways the knife has a wooden handle and has the name Charles carved into it" Stanley looks at Ellie and gets up from the bed taking off his shirt." Well .. we can't assume it's Charles knife.. if so that would mean he's still alive or that man just found it and fiend for himself""well if Charles is still alive then Lucia still has someone from her family alive." Ellie stops before speaking again." Or maybe Charles is trying to give us a sign.. because he is dead.. we all went to his funeral..maybe his magic still lingers.." Stanley looks at his wife, before laying back on the bed."or maybe he enchanted that knife for it to find Lucia... he did say before he died that something would happen in the future and that he would try to protect her and she'll protect the people."Ellie said"Yeah well we can't predict everyone's future perfectly now can we?"Stanley said." Well he perfectly predicted the troubles of the kingdom now has he?"Stanley looked at his wife,"well maybe Lucia will protect in a different way."he said smiling at his wife." Or at least we shall all hope"Ellie said now laying next to him.
