Samuel sighed, glancing up at the other. The time for Charles to leave had arrived, and Samuel wasn't going to waste his opportunity to tell him how hopelessly in love he was.

"Charles?" He held the other's arm tightly, biting his lower lip anxiously.

"What is it, Sam?" The man hummed, tilting his head to the side slightly.

"B-before you go, I need to tell you s-something." He stammered out, cheeks flushing red.

He glanced back, someone was calling out his name. "Okay, but it has to be quick. I need to leave already."

Samuel nodded frantically. "I need to tell you that.." –"I love you so much. I've never been so happy in my life and I hope you feel the same way too. I love you, Charles Lee"– "That you're my very best friend. Please come back," he stated, swallowing thickly and grinning.

Charles smiled back and nodded. "I'll try coming back, for you. Got it?"

Before Samuel could respond, the other had already left. God knew if it could be forever.

Samuel sighed heavily in defeat. "You wasted your chance, idiot," he mumbled to himself, turning on his heels and walking off.

"And so you told him he was your best friend?" His brother, David Seabury concluded.

"I messed up! It was the perfect opportunity to tell him, David!" Samuel held his head on his hands, shaking it repeatedly.

The older nodded. "I agree. You seriously need to work on speaking to him without flushing dark scarlet and stammering."

Samuel looked up to glare at his at his brother. "I don't do that." He paused. "Do I?"

David nodded, laughing. "You do it whenever to talk to him, Sam."

He groaned. "I shouldn't have told you about him..," he muttered angrily.

David shrugged as a grin crawled into his face. "I don't know, Samuel. My advice has been pretty useful."

"Your 'My hands are cold, feel them' advice?" Samuel raised an eyebrow sarcastically.

He hummed, nodding proudly. "Exactly," David responded, setting his book down. "You just need to settle down whenever you're around him."

Samuel frowned. "God knows if I'll ever be around him again," he mumbled under his breath.

David sighed. "Samuel, you know that you have to think positively."

Samuel nodded frantically. "You're right." He got up from the chair get was sitting on. "I'll go write him a letter. Having it prepared for when I need to send it."

David knew very well why Samuel wanted to write. That's what he did when he was upset or worried. Maybe even both. Although it was rather obvious, only two people were aware of it. Being of course, his brother and Charles.

The oldest of the two got up and followed him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "You can write afterwards. Let's take a walk now, you need to calm down."

Samuel sighed, nodding lightly as he ran a hand through his ginger hair. "Just let me grab my coat. Then we'll go." He offered his brother a small, yet fake, smile.

David's effort to calm Samuel down had resulted useless, as the other seemed to be anxious about any commentary he heard.
"I'm not sure if he'll make it," a woman who walked pass them said to a man, causing Samuel to glance at the couple nervously.

"Of course! He has a wonderful dog," a child chirped happily to his mother, making Samuel sigh slightly.

"I hope you get to meet Spada someday." The ginger smiled to himself as he remembered Charles ranting about his dog. "I'm sure he'll enjoy meeting you as well." God, he could talk about the small things he enjoyed for hours and Samuel wouldn't get tired of it.

The ginger hummed happily, catching his brother's attention. "Do you feel better now?" David asked.

Samuel nodded calmly. "Yes, I think I do."
