*2011*
"Come back here!" Justin yelled as I ran into his house dripping wet from his pool.
"You'll have to catch me first!" I yelled back. I reached the stairs and hurriedly ran to Justin's bedroom. When I reached it, I locked the door behind me.
"Open up Lia!" Justin banged the door with his fists
"Mmmm... no" I smirked. Not like he could see it.
"Darn, I guess you won't mind me looking through your phone would you?" Justin said through the door.
I heard his footsteps rush down the stairs, it didn't take long for me to catch up to him though and tackle him.
"Oof you're heavier than I remember" Justin groaned as I sat down on his back
"Yikes, that one hurt. Guess I'll just have to make myself a bit more comfortable" I said and put more of my weight on him
"Oh really?" Justin said and flipped me over in a matter of seconds, in which he was now on top of me
His eyes were glazing under the little ray of sunlight that creeped through his living room window. His hair was a mess, but he looked amazing regardless. My eyes wandered over his face, wanting to take all of this moment in, fearing never being this close to him ever again.
"Hey Just- Justin! You're probably hurting her" Pattie scolded Justin and he got up
I didn't even notice I had been holding my breath
"I've been prone to this abuse for far too long. I was just about to flip him over before you came in" I explained, earning a chuckle from Justin
"Bring it on then" Justin glared and jokingly put up his fists.
"No time for that right now. Justin have you checked your social media at all today?"
Justin rushed upstairs and got his phone, only to come rushing back stairs cheering. He even embraced me and lifted me off of my feet.
"What happened Jay?" I asked, laughing as he put me down
"Selena went public. We're public" Justin cheered and hugged Pattie next
"Wait, I thought you guys hadn't decided to go public yet?"
"I wanted to but Selena wasn't too sure of it. Not that any of that matters anymore though!" Justin exclaimed
"You have to be a complete gentleman Justin. Like always, but now specially. We don't want any rumors or misunderstandings about misconduct, do you understand?" Pattie sternly said
"I promise, I'll be careful at all times. Gosh, I've never been this happy Mom, I swear"
My heart was at the bottom of my stomach. I excused myself and went to the restroom to call Ryan. He agreed to pick me up, making up an excuse that we had a family thing going on.
"What's wrong Lia? Did Justin do anything?" Ryan asked as we pulled up to our house
"No of course not, he would never do anything to hurt me" I sniffled, trying to fight back the tears threatening to fall
"Is this about Selena?" Ryan asked. My heart immediately stopped, my breath hitched.
"I know it's going to be tough for you, not being by Justin's side all the time... but he's still gonna be your friend. You know Justin's always been around, he won't let any girl get in between your friendship" Ryan comforted
All I could do was nod, afraid of the truth coming out.
I rushed to my bathroom and started up my shower.
It was undeniable. There was no going back now.
