Mark woke up in a bed that certainly did not belong to him. As he pulled himself up, he realized that his head was pounding. The bed he was on was neatly made but it seemed as if someone had burnt it. He looked around the bed, realizing he was sleeping flat on top of the blanket and sheets. What a strange and uncomfortable way to sleep.

Mark got off of the bed, stepping down on the wooden floor. It creaked. Mark flinched at the sound. He searched his surroundings, his eyes darting all around. The room was small but dark. A lit candle lied upon a small table.

Mark walked over to the window. It was shut tightly, cobwebs in between the glass. The glass was dirty and hard to see through so Mark opened the window, struggling. As he opened it, dust flew everywhere, making him cough and gag. He peered out the small window at a dead field that seemed to go on forever.

Mark continued to stare out the window. He felt like something was out there. Or maybe it was just somewhere close. Too close. Mark quickly closed the window, making sure it was tightly shut. He took a deep breath. He didn't feel safe with that window being open. Despite the window being small, he didn't like the thought of things being able to get in.

Mark turned around, looking around the room he was in. A bedroom. He knew that by the bed in the middle of the room as well as a dresser and nightstand.

"How the hell did I get here?" Mark wondered to himself. Mark decided he would check the dresser. Mark approached the dresser, then pulled on the knobs of the first drawer. It didn't budge.

"Maybe it's stuck." Mark pulled harder then looked at the drawer. It was locked.

"What kind of person locks a dresser?" Mark thought to himself,"What kind of things could possibly be in there that needs to be locked up?" Mark pulled a few more times, hoping for it to open. It didn't. Mark decided to search somewhere else. He cautiously walked over to the desk with the lit candle. He picked up the candle nervously, shaking.

Still shaking, Mark looked back over at the desk, examining it. He switched the candle to his left hand and used his right hand to open a small drawer on the desk. He opened it, peering cautiously into the small area. There was a small, orange bottle. Mark set the candle down on the desk gently then grabbed the bottle. He brought it close to his face, examining it.

"A pill bottle," Mark accidentally said out loud in a hushed whisper. Before Mark could find a label on the pill bottle, he heard a sound. It sounded like something heavy falling or maybe large footsteps. He dropped the bottle in shock. He wasn't sure what to do. A part of him wanted to hide himself but he was scared to move and make noise. Mark looked around him, spotting a closet.

He could hide in the closet, but, also, opening a closet in an eerie place such as the one he was in, was not a good idea. Out of fear, Mark decided not to even go near the closet. He slowly picked the pill bottle back up, searching for a label. It was a little scratched up.

"Antipsy-" That's all he could read on it. There were a few pills left in the bottle. About seven. Mark inferred that it might have said "antipsychotics" at one point. The closet door creaked opened. Mark turned around quickly. He was scared that something might have opened the door. Weather that be paranormal or inside on the closet, Mark didn't want to know.

He approached the closet, looking inside of it, fearful. There was a small light bulb on the ceiling of the closet with a chain. Mark pulled it, triggering the light to come on. He was surprised that it worked. As Mark searched the closet, he found a small bag. He took it, finding that it was empty.

"I don't know why I need this," Mark started,"but I feel like I should keep it." Mark put the pill bottle in the bag and put the bag over his shoulder.
