"UGH WHEN IS THIS SHIFT GONNA END!" Jia He whined. He started working at a nearby karoke place to save up for his college.Let's say... things hasn't been going well.

He nearly got fired two days ago for sleeping on the counter, stealing chips from the snack bar, booking a client's time slot wrongly and almost breaking the computer on the front desk because he got angry.

"Stop whining and just be patient. At least you're still getting paid for such a bad attitude." His co-worker, Yi Zhe said. His hands were fiddling with a new game on his phone, layed back on the chair with his legs on top of the front desk.

Jia he scoffed and rolled his eyes back to the front glass doors. There were families walking around the mall and an occasional group of friends glancing at the karoke. He missed the times when he could do that. Now he has to be a responsible adult.

Not long after he started daydreaming, a group of people walked into the karoke, most of them busy talking to each other while a girl tapped the counter. Jia he flinched a little, still getting out of his blank zone and looked up at the girl.

His mind froze.

The girl had her hair tied up and her glasses made her look extra adorable. He was trying his best to memorize all her features before she was snapping her fingers at him.

"Hello?" She asked, raising one of he eyebrows.

"Ah! S-sorry." He mumbled, scratching the back of his ear and looking away. "Uh do you have a booking?" He stammered softly.

"Ya, around 3pm for Khoo Qi Wei?" She said again, looking back at her friends who were quarreling. "GIVE IT BACK!" Zhaoyi shouted, Qingyue was holding her phone, looking at her texts with Bryan. "WAH SEND LOVE HEARTS SOME MORE AH!"

Qi wei cringed at them and looked back at Jia He, who was busy looking for her booking. "Ok Qi Wei...your room is number 7. It's not occupied right now so you can go in already." Jia he stammered again, his heart was pounding profusely.

Qi wei smiled back at him as she started walking to her room. Jia he immediately stopped her by grabbing her elbow, "You sure you know where room number 7 is?" He asked. Qi wei chuckled a little and nodded, "I come here quite often."

Jia he let go of her as her friends ventured to their room. He was scratching his forehead, thinking hard.

"If she comes here often, how come I never seen her before."

He shook it off and sat down on his seat, "I was probably sleeping or daydreaming when she came."

__________

"Ugh.." Jia He sighed. He had only ten minutes left till the tidious class he was in would end. But even after that, he still needed to go home and get ready for his shift.

He glanced at the clock again before groaning and slamming his head on the table. Turning his head to the side, he stared out the window at the class that was having physical education in the field.

That was when his eyes widened.

He squinted his eyes a little and inched closer to the window. Right there out in the field surrounded with her friends, was the girl that made his heart beat at the karoke centre.

"Qi wei?" He mummered to himself. She felt so familar to him. That smile felt so warm and assuring, but sadly wasn't directed to him.

"Kong Jia he." The teacher firmly shouted, causing Jia he to immediatly turn his head towards her. "Could you repeat what I just said to the class?"

".....SH-"
