"Where am I?"
Wonho had choked out his question, his throat burning from the dryness. The shock had triggered his body's natural instinct to sit up, and the sudden movement had caused a jolt of pain in his abdomen, forcing him to lie back down.
"You shouldn't get up just yet, noble knight. Please lie down and rest till you've fully recovered."
A middle aged man clad in old traditional robes had said. What is this, a new drama that is currently being filmed? Wonho hadn't heard about it. It was now that he realised that he himself was covered with some type of armor waist down while his upper body was wrapped up in cloth. A fresh red patch had stained the white fabric and blood continued to ooze out from a certain part of his body. Wonho was baffled.
"What 'noble knight'? Please don't joke with me."
The same man replied, the look of confusion on his face matching the one on Wonho's.
"What do you mean O' knight Hoseok? Did you hit your head somewhere? Shall I get the royal physician to do another check on you?"
This is absurd. Wonho couldn't believe what he got into. Apparently he had turned into a knight over the cause of one night? He clearly remembered walking down the same street that he always takes to get home just before the dreadful car accident. How could it be that he was now trapped in this body of a knight called Hoseok which probably isn't even alive in the same era as him? Did he somehow... time travelled? His head started to throb again.
He was given no time to wrap his mind around the concept; someone had announced the arrival of a prince and a loud knock sounded. The thin wooden doors slid open and a young man, aura evident to be of royalty, stepped into the room. A request was made and the people that were previously in the room immediately complied and left, leaving just the prince and Wonho. He cleared his throat loudly. That action startled Wonho and he was unsure of what to do. He had studied enough History to know that people were supposed to kneel before the superiors in the form of a greeting.
However, the prince just whined and jumped to him, throwing his arms around the injured male and sobbed.
"Ahhh you scared meeeee! I thought I accidentally murdered yoooou! Do you have any idea how afraid I was? I don't want to be the first prince to kill a fellow knight..."
The prince rambled on and on while crying into the cloth bandage around Wonho's body. The said man didn't know what to do except to pat the young prince's back. He couldn't help but feel a little grossed out by the soaked piece of cloth that now stuck to his body due to the prince's tears. He heaved out a sigh, causing the prince to momentarily stop and lift his head to look at the other man.
"Oh right, they said your name was Hoseok... I'm really sorry for what happened. Please, please forgive me. I'll throw in a word to father to promote you, okay? I hope you get better soon..."
With that, the prince stood up and gave a weak smile before exiting the room. Well, that was quite an insightful experience. Who knew princes acted like that?
As if reading his mind, the same middle-aged man from before commented,
"Prince Minhyuk can be such a child sometimes, haha. He's such a sweet person, I wonder how he can lead the country..."Prince Minhyuk huh... He reminds a certain someone of vanilla cotton candy...
"Say, do you have ramen? I'm a little hungry. "
