Running Away
Prologue
Adrianna's POV ( Pic On Side)
It was 9:00 PM and I was walking the alleyways of New York. It was a dangerous place to be walking around, especially seeing as I was only eight. But I couldn't go home because they live in Fare dale, A small city where everyone knows each other. I was sent to a boarding school because my parents were embarrassed of me.
They sent me to the Academy Of New York Primary Boarding School. I had a trip back home scheduled tomorrow, so I had to stay in my dorm one more night. But I'd rather take the possibility of getting stabbed rather than spending one more day with Harriet.
I didn't want to go home for one reason. If they sent me here who knows where else they will send me?
Plus my parents were already mad at me for getting expelled. It's not my fault I live for trouble.
I was walking down another Alley way when I heard foot steps.
I sighed and turned around.
"What is it this time?" I asked " Wanna get beaten up by a eight year old girl again?"
"Shut up. You are never to speak of that again." He boomed
"Then why are you here?" I raised one eyebrow
"I'm here to prove that I'm the one in charge here. I have a few things to settle." He pulled out a gun and pointed it at me "No one can find out what happened."
"So you would actually go this far to cover it up?"
"I'm ruthless."
He pulled the trigger as I turned around to sprint away.
Click
I expected a sting in the back of my head, but instead I only felt it in the back in my leg. I collapsed and I fell to the ground.
But I wasn't going to admit defeat anytime soon.
"So much for being ruthless. It doesn't really count when you have bad aim." I smiled
"It doesn't matter because. I. Have. One. And I always will, Remember that" He spat
He turned around and walked away stopping half way.
"Plus it doesn't matter if I have bad aim. I have the coldness to just let them bleed to death instead of killing them fast" He Smirked and walked away
I examined the bullet hole. I pulled the bullet out bitting onto my necklace to make sure I didn't scream and draw attention to where I was.
I placed the bullet on the ground and reached for beer bottles that were littered on the ground to check to see if they had anything left in them to disinfect the wound. I shaked the bottles side-to-side to check. One of them had a little left in them.
I slid my shirt off from underneath my jumper and ripped it up into sheets.
I tipped the alcohol on one of the sheets and placed it on my leg. I hissed and tried not to scream. I took it off and wrapped my leg with the rest of the sheets. I used the wall to stand up. I hobbled away.
It felt like forever till I made it back to the academy. I slowly made my way up the stairs to my dorm level.
I opened the door slowly to make sure that I didn't wake Harriet so I didn't get lectured about how she was trying to get beauty sleep. She was such a brat for an eight year old. She actually wanted to go here. I always found that weird.
The door creaked and I froze in my spot. Harriet rolled over and I let out a breath of relief when I saw her eyes were still closed.
I hobbled over to my closet and pulled out the biggest suitcase that I could find, which was Harriet's.
I grabbed all of my clothes and stuffed them into the suitcase. I grabbed a pillow and my toiletries and stuffed them into the suitcase as well.
In a matter of minutes I had all of my stuff packed away and I was ready to go.
I was ready to disappear.
Lynett's POV (Adrianna's mom)
RING RING RING
I picked up the phone thinking about how Adrianna is coming home tonight.
"Hello" I said sweetly
"Hi. Is this Lynett scarth?" A deep voice said on the other line.
"Yes. May I ask who this is?"
"I'm Detective Staplah. I have some bad news. You might want to sit down" The voice got concerned.
"What is this about Detective Staplah?. Is this about Adrianna again?. What did she do this time?" I sighed
I've heard it all before. I don't understand how she turned out so troublesome.
"Uh. No. It's not what she did. Um"
"Just spit it out" I wonder what she did this time?
"Um. This is about Adrianna, but she did nothing wrong this time. She went missing yesterday and we found a trail of her blood. And all of her stuff is gone."
"That's because she's on a plane coming home right now." I was glad she wasn't introuble again.
"Uh. That's the thing Misses Scarth, she didn't get on that plane this morning."
"What do you mean she didn't get on the plane" I croaked as I felt my throat getting dry as I held back tears
"She never showed up. I'm sorry Ms. Scarth but we think your daughter was killed by Konald Kinnicavitch. I'm sorry for your loss."
The phone slid out of my fingers and smashed into peaces on the tiled floor.
Dave came running down the stairs to see what was happening.
"What was that?" He questioned
"Dave" I whispered
"What is it honey?" He hugged me
"She's dead" I whimpered
"Who's dead?"
"Adrianna, Adrianna's Dead Dave, She went missing last night and they found a trail of her blood and all of her stuff went missing" I burst out crying
"It's alright. She might turn up." He reasoned with me
"She's dead okay. They can't find her anywhere." I froze "What about Jason. Jason will be shatered when he finds out. She was the only person she trusted fully"
"But what if he never has to?" He told me
"What do you mean?" I sobbed
"What if we wipe his memories of her. Marshel will do it, I mean it will be hard to do, but it would be for the best."
"What. No. I won't do that to my kid. He's only ten something could go wrong" I spazzed
"It will be for the best. Trust me. Would I ever lie to you?"
"No"
"Exactly. Do you trust me?" He asked
"Yes"
"Let me call marshel then and he'll make Jason forget she ever exsisted for his on good"
"Fine"
