This is just an opening scene type thing that I did for my English class. The characters may or may not be named after Percabeth... Except they're both male but whatever. I used a dialogue prompt from Pinterest which I put in Italics. It's only 150 words or so, it's just an opening.
"What's our exit strategy?"
"Our what?"
"Oh my god, we're going to die."
"What are you on about?" Jackson complained.
Chase held up his hand, indicating to pause for a second.
"You expected us to infiltrate a government building, steal a dangerous weapon that the government are about to unknowingly sell to a bad guy, who, by the way, is the vice-president of this country, and to escape with said weapon without an exit strategy?"
Jackson stared at him blankly for a second before opening his mouth.
"Why was I supposed to plan the exit strategy?"
"Because you're the expert," Chase stamped his foot childishly. "Everyone recommended you highly so I hired you."
Jackson suddenly broke out into a grin.
"I think best on my feet."
With that, he lunged in front of Chase and knocked out the guard that was about to attack them. He spoke next with a flourish of his hand.
"Shall we?"
