Chapter Two:  “Nightmare.”

I had barely peeked through the door, when …

“You know, it’s rude to invite yourself into someone else’s room without their permission.” Someone said, startling me to no end.

I automatically knew by this person’s voice that it was a woman.  I turned around to look at her, and I had to say, she was quite beautiful.   What with her waist length straight dark brown hair, almost flawless complexion, and slim physique.  She looked much older than me also, and for some reason unbeknownst to me, she had her arms crossed, and was glaring at me.  “It’s also rude to peep.”

I straightened my posture.  I came to find myself … actually a bit frightened of her.   Strange, considering I’m not easy to scare.  “S-sorry, I don’t know what had come over me.”

She kept her glare, furrowing her eyebrows even more.  “Well, don’t let it happen again.”  She said coldly, and then turned her back to mine, and walked away without another word.

I watched as she walked down stairs.  A confused expression plastered across my face.

O-okay then … I think it’s obvious she doesn’t like me at all.  But I just got here … and she doesn’t even know me.

“Damn … unknown and unspoken issues, I guess …”

I let out a large sigh, and then made my way to my room to unpack some more.

It’s strange … nowadays it seems like no matter where I go, there’s always going to be at least one person who doesn’t like me.

It wasn’t always like that.  When I was little, even my mother liked me … at least a little anyway.  My dad, and my brother always seemed to smile whenever they saw me, which gave me the impression that they liked me.

Oh well, it’s not like I rented this room out to make friends with the people who already lived here, I did it to get away from my mom, and her soon-to-be ex boyfriend.

After a little while, I got tired, and decided to finish unpacking my belongings the following day.  Well, at least I made some progress on unpacking.  I’m not lazy, okay?  It was dark out, and I was just tired, and therefore, I gave myself a break.

One thing I did manage to do was unpack my bed sheets, blanket, and pillow.   Although, I had noticed that they had placed a full-sized bed in the room for me.

Well, at least they are kind enough to provide a nice bed for me.

“But, my sheets and blankets are too small for this bed though.”  I sighed.

Guess I’ll have to go out and pick up a proper bed set tomorrow … I hope I have enough money.  Which reminds me, I need to find myself a new job.

I chuckled.

Guess getting fired a week before I had to move out wasn’t too smart, huh?

“Oh well, I’ll just wait and worry about that when tomorrow gets here.  Right now, I need sleep, and lots of it.”  I said, and then proceeded to fix the bed with only my pillow, and blanket.  One night without sheets wouldn’t hurt, right?

The moment my head hit the pillow, I realised how worn out I really was.  I fell right to sleep … but, a small part of me wished I hadn’t.

I was dreaming.  Well, if that’s what you want to call it.  I on the other hand, would much rather refer to it as being a nightmare.

Last time I checked, dreams didn’t consist of such an excessive amount of bright red substance.

And what’s crazy, is that I hardly knew what was going on.  The only thing I knew, was that I needed to run.  And so I did, as fast as my short legs would let me.

But, being the clumsy person I’ve always been since birth, I tripped on a rock that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere - of course - and I fell to the ground.

I tried getting up to continue running, but, it was too late.  That, thing was right behind me.

Scared out of my mind, I turned around, and just gawked at it.  I knew what was going to happen next … but, I was overly grateful for what happened next.  I woke up out of fear.

I sat up real quickly, and began panting a little.

I reached up to touch my forehead, and noticed I was sweating big time.

“Damn, who woulda thought a silly little nightmare like that would scare me shitless …”  I said, followed by a small chuckle.  I laid back down, and soon found sleep again.  Only this time, I was lucky, and had a normal dream.

The next day, I woke up, and noticed some of the guys still weren’t back yet.  That guy Aaron told me that they had all gone to visit their families, and wouldn’t be back until the end of the week.

So, yay … more people who may or may not like me ...

After getting dressed, I grabbed my purse, and walked downstairs.

When I got down there, I saw the girl from yesterday in the kitchen, sitting at one of the countertops, fiddling with her cell phone.

I scoped the room out a little, and then looked back at her.  “Um, where’s Aaron?”

She ignored me, and continued with whatever she was doing.

“Hello?”

She tensed up, almost slammed her cell phone down on the counter, and turned and glared at me.  “I don’t know where he is.  Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like for you to leave me the hell alone.”  She said, once again, going back to fiddling with her phone.

I sighed.

Geez, get a grip woman, I was only asking a simple question … I thought to myself, as I went to open the front door.

Before I could take two steps outside, - because I wasn’t watching where I was going - I bumped into someone.

I rubbed my head.  Then I looked up, and …
