Falling for Ivan

"Yeah. I know. I was just as surprised as you are when he told me." Jake said. 

"But I don't even know Alex that well. I never thought that I was coming off as liking him." I say to Jake. 

" I know! That's why I was so surprised. And i was just getting used to you and Ivan being together and then Alex comes and tells me all of this." Jake says. 

"Well, you're the king of advice. What do I do to fix this?" I ask. 

"Ummm. You should probably just go talk to him. Explain that you didn't know that you were letting on that you like him. Explain that he messed up. But do it nicely. And if you STILL manage to make things worse, then I'll talk to him."

"Okay. Thank you." I say.

"Just please don't mess this up."

"I'll try my best."

I walk downstairs to find Alex. I find him sitting on the couch with his head in his hands. He looks up at the sound of my footsteps and shakes his head. He gets up and turns away from me. I lunge for his arm and he tries to dodge me but misses. I grab his arm. 

"Alex wait." 

"What Y/N? What could you possibly say to me at this moment? Are you just gonna rub your engagement in my face some more? Because I get it. You're engaged. You don't like me the way I thought you did."

"What? Alex. No. I was coming to ask you why you thought I liked you. I thought that I was just being friendly. I didn't know that it seemed like I like you." 

"What do you mean you didn't know?!?!? You fell asleep on me for God's sake." 

"What? When?" I ask. 

"Jesus. You don't even remember. It was the other night when we were all watching movies together. Ivan told you he was going upstairs and you said you were gonna hang out down here and then as soon as he went upstairs you put your head on my lap and went to sleep." 

"Alex. I didn't know that I did that. I just fell asleep. Those kind of things happen." I say. 

Alex pulls away from me and mumbles 'whatever' under his breath, walking out the back door. 

I roll my eyes and walk back upstairs. I flop down on my bed and replay everything that just happened and everything that has happened within the past week.
