"So Shiro, what's it like being a vampire? Can you melt in the sun or what?" Shiro opened his mouth slightly, only to pause and shake his head with a small grimace, his gaze trailed towards the black haired boy's sea green eyes, he kept his own ruby gaze interlocked with sea green for a few moments before a small, slightly crooked smile creased his lips.
"Kuro... Where the hell did you get that kind of idea?" Shiro sighed, as he ran his left hand through his own platinum locks, eliciting a soft huff from the other as Kuro's gaze quickly met with the dirt that dusted the faded wood of the balcony. Shiro raised a brow as he watched Kuro lean against the balcony railing with his fingers intertwined, fidgeting slightly.
"I just- Yesterday I read a book about vampires..." Kuro's voice trailed off as he glanced upwards towards Shiro before averting his gaze back towards the ground, away from the older, he bit his lip lightly as he continued. "And they said that the sun and other stuff, could kill you..." Kuro closed his eyes as he finished speaking.
Shiro's gaze narrowed as he took a step towards the other before crossing his arms across his chest. Shiro leaned to his left and looked up towards where the moon was concealed by clouds. His fingers were digging into his skin.
"Why would you need to know if the sun will kill me or not?" Shiro replied, his voice cool and level as he lowered his gaze back towards Kuro, watching as the boy stiffened. Kuro shook his head rapidly, his left hand balling up into a fist as it made its way towards his own chest. Kuro's back straightened as his eyes opened and met with Shiro's.
"I-I just...." Kuro's voice was a few pitches higher than usual before it died in his throat. His hands wringing together as he bit his lip. Shiro uncrossed his arms and shifted his weight to his other leg, straightening his back.
"Just what?" Shiro's ruby gaze bore into Kuro, the younger teen seemed to wane further under the older's gaze. Kuro's gaze flitted towards the side as his hands came together in front of him, finger tips tapping gently against each other.
"I... Was worried that I might make a stupid mistake and hurt you..." Kuro muttered softly as he splayed his hands and brought them down to his sides. "I don't want to see you hurt..." He sighed. "Especially if it was my fault..." He hurriedly added under his breath, as he leaned on the back of his heels. Shiro's lips curved upwards into a small smile, as he observed the other. As Kuro risked a glance over towards him, the smile was quickly whisked away and replaced with a small scowl.
"You're not lying?..." Shiro questioned as he shifted his stance, Kuro readily shook his head and flashed a small smile, as he took the older teen's hands into his own.
"Of course not, I could never lie to you!" Kuro laughed, Shiro's face went a faint shade of pink as his shoulders tensed momentarily only to sag as Kuro continued to speak. "I suck at lying" Shiro shook his hands away from Kuro and let out a soft breath as he shook his head.
"It's just most people..." Shiro sighed softly before taking in a breath before continuing. "When you asked about what could harm me I..." Shiro paused as he felt the warmth of Kuro's arms wrapping around him. "If you were to be like that...." Shiro whispered, his voice trembling. His arms went up to return the hug, but he paused right before he wrapped his arms around the boy completely, his fingers twitched as he allowed his arms to fall to his side.
"Maybe you're not as smart as I thought you were.." Kuro breathed as he released Shiro with a small laugh when he spotted Shiro's brow began to furrow. "You've always been there for me...." Kuro trailed off as he poked Shiro's shoulder, earning him a light swat on the head. "So you'll always be my best friend!"
"Yeah, friends....." Shiro drawled under his breath, the fingers of his left hand clenching lightly before relaxing.
"Did you say something?" Kuro inquired as he leaned upwards towards Shiro, Shiro jerked a few feet away from him, his arms raised, before shaking his head and lowering them. Kuro raised a brow before sighing softly. "I must be hearing things...." Kuro trailed off before perking up and taking a few steps towards Shiro.
"Kuro?" Shiro questioned as he took a few steps backwards away from the advancing boy, raising his hands up in front of him. His fingers were curled up into weak claws. Kuro just grinned, a gleam in his eyes, as he raised his hands forwards and cupped both of Shiro's cheeks within his them. Shiro froze and opened his mouth to speak, only for Kuro to tug on his cheeks "Ack-!" Shiro yelped as he staggered a few steps backwards, away from Kuro.
"You're warm, and you feel just like a human Shiro" Kuro stated as he removed his hands from the other's face, Shiro took a few steps back and rubbed his reddened cheeks. "So you have nothing to worry about" Kuro finished as he crossed his arms in front of himself and nodded, sea greens gleaming, and a small smile tugging on his lips.
"Thank you..." Shiro breathed as he turned away stiffly, pink dusting his cheeks.
"That's what friends are for right?" Kuro laughed, Shiro's stance relaxed as he rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue before turning back around to face Kuro.
"Shiro..." Kuro whined as he uncrossed his arms, letting them hang at his side before elaborating. "You clicked your tongue..." Shiro just shrugged before leaning over and ruffled Kuro's hair with his left hand. "Nooo...." Kuro complained as he cringed under Shiro's touch, he tried to swat away his hand, only to have Shiro's right hand clasp onto his shoulder to hold him in place.
"An idiot like you needs to have messy hair" Shiro replied with a smirk before releasing the other. Kuro scowled and crouched down towards the ground with a small huff, bringing up his hands towards his head and running his fingers through his hair.
