Warnings: mentions of rape and abuse.
~
The cafe was closed for a few weeks while Ian dealt with his heat, he came back opening it early in the morning.

Gregory was relieved that the cafe was finally open he came in and sat at the counter, glancing at the omega.

Ian was pale, dark circles under his eyes. He looked up at the officer "What can I get you?" He asked rubbing eyes.

"Vanilla iced coffee.... you got home okay? Right?" The other asked, concerned.

"$2.28." Ian said softly, putting the order into the register.

"You didn't answer my question." he reminded as he payed the amount.

"I guess." He whispered taking the money, handing the other his change.

His eyes widened "Do you need to go to the hospital? I can take you to the precinct and take your report." he insisted.

"It's fine." He told him turning to cough into his shirt.

".... sir please, alphas who rape omegas tend to be repeat offenses. You might not be safe...... plus you could be pregnant...." he said.

"He's always like this. It's fine." He mumbled, stepping over to start making the coffee.

"So it is repeated abuse. Is he someone you know? Domestic abuse is still abuse." He assured him.

"He's my brother's friend." He told him.

"If you make a formal report, I can make sure he doesn't hurt you again." Gregory told him growing a bit more frantic.

"It's fine." Ian told Gregory handing him the cold drink.

".... at least... call me if you're in danger again." he insisted and handed him his card, with his number on it.

"Thanks..." he whispered putting the card in his apron pocket.

"I want to keep all omegas safe." he insisted "I'm sorry most alphas are so cruel... I'm sorry you had to be hurt..." he said.

"I'm used to it with him." He said stretching out slightly.

"You shouldn't have to be used to it!" The alpha insisted.

"It's fine." He said walking off to the back.

"Its not fine!" He told him.

"Trust me." He said coming back out leaning against the counter.

He sipped his coffee and let out a sigh "You deserve better than this." He whispered.

"He's infertile anyway." The omega watched the blonde tense, he had almost a cat like look to him. Ian studied his face.

"Being infertile is no excuse!" he scowled "I made myself infertile so I wouldn't be tempted to hurt anyone."

"You're infertile by choice he's not." He said simply.

"Still. Not an excuse to rape." He almost growled.

"I don't need protection." He told him glaring.

"I didnt say that. He's a rapist, he needs to be locked up."

Ian ignored him, his heart pounding  in his ears he felt his legs start to shake, only feeling anger.

"Please remember you have my number." The other insisted.

Ian felt his heart slow and he nodded "I will..."

"I gotta get to work. See ya, I'll be back tomorrow." he assured him and left the cafe.

Ian sighed but shook his head getting back to work, being the only one working once again.

Gregory had a tough day at work, not able to get his mind off of the omega, the images of his tired sunken in eyes and the slightly faded bruises around his wrists.

Ian went home after a long day and curled up in his room watching whatever was on tv, the alpha's number laying on his night stand. His eyes grew heavy, his hips and wrists throbbing slightly from the pain of the previous weeks activities .
