BEEP BEEP BEEP
Maya fell out of her chair waking up to her alarm clock. She looked over and saw Riley still asleep holding a picture of Farkle.
She chuckled "Riles. You gotta get up." She walked over and shook Riley awake. "Mayaaaaaaa!! I was dreaming that Farkle finally asked me out." "You know, you could just ask him out yourself." I replied, walking out of the room.
Just as I turned on the stove to make breakfast, Riley ran out screaming "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?" "Probably." I replied sarcastically. "Maya, the guy always makes the first move." "Whatever Riles."
"Ooooo Lucas is calling you." I looked over and saw his contact photo lit up on my phone. It was a picture of me and him together at my sweet sixteen. I was going to smile but then I realized Riley was staring at me.
"Why should I care?" I snapped at her. "Okay I'll just answer it for you then and tell Lucas how much you loooovvveee him." I grabbed my phone so fast that Riley fell to the floor.
"Hey Lucas." I said into the phone "Hi Maya. I was wondering if you want me to pick you up some coffee while I'm at Starbucks." Lucas and Maya lived down the hall from each other in the same apartment building.
"Yeah sure just get me a regular coffee please." "No sugar?" He asked. "Nah I'm okay." "Alright. It's not like you need the sugar anyway; you are already sweet enough. See ya." "Bye." I replied smiling at my feet.
Lucas and I had been telling each other corny pick-up lines for the past month. They were living in California now and Lucas played college football for UCLA while Maya was there in the art program. Riley was working as an editor for Vogue Magazine and Farkle had taken over Minkus Industries.
It was really nice that they all got to stay together but we didn't get to see each other very much, so on the weekends we made sure to hangout.
In fact, Lucas had a football game tonight and they were all going.
Maya was so focused on Lucas that she didn't even notice Riley was calling her name.
"Maya, if you don't come over here and eat these eggs I made for you I am going to pour ketchup all over them and I know how much you hate that." "Okay, okay I'm coming ya ketchup freak."

Maya
"Miss Hart, would you mind showing your piece to the class?" Mrs. Roberts asked. Maya set down her coffee Lucas had got her. "Sure." She said and held it up. Maya was kind of like Mrs. Roberts art prodigy. She always picked Maya for demonstrations.
"See class, when I asked you to paint a body of water, this was what I meant. Look how Maya didn't only use 2 or 3 blues, but used 7 or 8. She painted a body of water that only she knows what she wants it to look like. When you are painting, I want you to use your imagination. Thank you Miss Hart. Class dismissed."
Maya set down her painting and started out of the classroom. When she got to the door, there Lucas was waiting for her as always.
"That art piece was very pretty Miss Hart. But not as beautiful as the Blonde Beauty herself." He said mockingly.
"Shut it Sundance." She snapped and punched him in the arm. He laughed it off. She noticed how mad Lucas got when Riley punched him, but how much he didn't care when Maya did.
She smiled at the ground.
"Do you want me to give you a ride home so you don't have to ride the bus?" "Sure... But I'm driving!" She yelled grabbing his keys and running down the hallway.
