Scene Two

Minister Devon Garamond & Tywona are inside of the church.

Tywona: Thanks for letting me stay in the guest house and for letting me change into something clean to wear.

Devon Garamond: You welcome. That's my mama's dress. But she don't mind you having it.

Tywona: How can I repay you? (She asked and starts undressing.)

Devon Garamond: No, I don't want your body. It belongs to God.

(Tywona scoffed at the sound of the name.)

Tywona: So are you really too good of a Christian that you would refuse my body?

Devon Garamond: Yes I am. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, & the Lord for the body. That comes from First Corinthians Chapter Six Verse thirteen the B clause.

Tywona: (She walks up to him and caresses his broad masculine shoulders.) So you mean to tell me, that you never slept with a prostitute or any woman for some booty. Not once since you've been a good Christian man?

Devon Garamond: First Corinthians Chapter Six Verse sixteen says, Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it says,-(Tywona cuts him off.)

Tywona: That's enough with the preaching. I appreciate you helping me. But I got to get going. (She starts to exit the church but, Devon stops her.)

Devon Garamond: Hey I didn't get your name.

Tywona: You can call me Juicy.

Devon Garamond: Not your street name. I want to know your real name.

Tywona: It's Tywona. (She replied, and then exits the church.)

Devon hums a spiritual hymn and his mother walks into the church.

Evangelist Shanella: Hey son where did that young lady go? She left her clothes inside of the guest house?

Devon Garamond: She went back home mom. Thanks for letting her have your dress.

Evangelist Shanella: Oh it was no problem. You know my testimony, son. I was once in her same stilettos. But I wasn't a prostitute. I was a stripper that went by the name, Trixie.

Devon Garamond: Amen! Mom I know your testimony! And I thank the Lord for delivering you from cocaine too.

Evangelist Shanella: Thank the Lord. Now, son I want you and the street ministry crew to go out wearing the whole armor of God. There is to be absolutely no half stepping. You all have got to be bold and be prayed up.

Devon Garamond: Yes ma'am.

Evangelist Shanella: Now I want you to send forward messages to the street ministry crew and them here at the church for a prayer meeting.

Devon Garamond: Alright mom, I will.

Evangelist Shanella: I'm going to get to the house so I can change clothes and relax. You do what I told you to, ya hear?

Devon Garamond: I got you ma don't worry. (He leans over and gives his mom a kiss good-bye on the cheek.) You drive safe.

Evangelist Shanella: Awww thanks sweetheart I will. I will call you once I make it to the house.

Devon Garamond: Okay mom. See ya.

Evangelist Shanella: Bye son.

She exits the church closing the door behind her.
