Also as a side, I may slip in and out of 2nd and 3rd person depending on who's point of view it is. (W/N)=Warrior NameIt was hot, then again it was an active volcano, so heat would be natural. Currently, you were visiting your Tribe with your new mate, hoping to be given the traditional mating rings from your greedy mother. Who was your mate, you may ask?
The Emperor of Kou himself, Kouen Ren.
Now while Kouen was not the most romantic male, (mostly having his brother Koumei and sisters righting letters during your courtship) he was strong, protective, and possessive, all the good traits dragons look for in mates. Not to mention he could rival even the greatest dragons in the bed chamber. You both had met when he had first visited the volcano with his Household Members, asking your mother Blightstar for a formal alliance between your tribe and its allies and the Empire. Your mother had agreed to discuss it in a chamber meeting (the chamber is a pocket beneath the lava where all important business was conducted). After the visitors were given a guild to the tribe's home, your mother tasked you with deeming wether or not the emperor was a leader worth his salt. So you followed him in your half human form and watched him closely, seeing how he talked to his Household Members and your people, and seemed capable at the very least. However he was smarter than you gave him credit for and his Household Member Kin Gaku attacked you, thinking you were a threat. You managed to fight him off rather easily and your people stood at the ready to defend you. Being the leader's daughter, you were kind of important.
"You've been tracking us since we've met with the queen. Who are you dragonness?" He demanded in that low masculine tone. You called off your fellow warriors. The guide, Ambertail a nursery mate of yours, bowed in apology.
"Sorry (W/N), I tried to keep them distracted!"
"It's alright Ambertail. If they were able to detect me, it's another point toward their worthiness," I said smugly.
"The Emperor demanded to know who you are!" The bull/Lion man Kokuton demanded. You stood strong.
"I am (W/N), daughter of Blightstar, future leader of this Tribe," Kouen's eyes betrayed surprise.
"Blightstar did not mention having a daughter,"
"All the clan is kin, blood does not grant loyalty, only succession," there were cheers and roars of approval. Shou En scoffed.
"2 female leaders? I find it od-" he didn't finish as you used your (S/C) tail to send him flying into the wall. Several of the Warriors howled in laughter as you turned to the visitors, giving them an unnerving smile.
"Anyone else what to question our leadership on gender?" They were silent.
"Good. Ambertail, why don't you return to your duties. I'll take it from here," she made no argument and turn into her dragon form to take off.
"Well then gentlemen, follow me,"
The rest of the tour went off flawlessly. Kouen would ask many questions about your culture and way of life and it impressed you how eager he was to learn. The tour ended with the group in the Tribe tavern drinking away. The emperor once again impressed you by keeping up with your drinking. Eventually, you decided on one final test involving him riding your dragon form as you made a hunter's dive into the volcano and towards the lava and trust you wouldn't let him burn. The looks on the Household member's faces when you returned were priceless and Kouen seemed to have enjoyed the experience. When it came time for the Chamber meeting, your mother asked if Kouen was worthy of the Tribe's trust.
"I found no man or beast more worthy if he has the balls to plunge into the volcano while riding a dragon bareback,"
Blightstar agreed and named you the ambassador to Kou. For many moons you traveled to and from the Kou palace, meeting the rest of Kouen's siblings, the members of staff, even the obnoxious High Priest and Fallen Magi Judal who had tried to impale you on ice but it simply melted on your naturally hot skin. One night however, you and Kouen had gotten a little to into a drinking contest and it ended with a night of him bedding you passionately and demand you become his wife. After that experience, you'd be a fool not to agree. And now here you are, back where it started.
Currently in the present, as the rest of your kin in law and your mate were in the arena, all except Koumei, whom you could not rip away from the library, you were searching for a rather annoying member of the family: Kouha. Now certain members of your mate's family you did not mind and were even glad to bring to your homeland, like Koumei, Hakuei, and Kougyoku. Kouha was not one these family members. While his aggressive psychopathic and blood driven tendencies would make him ideal to stick him on one of the many violent border patrols, he also tend to annoy warriors resting after their duties and even kill a few (oh well, warriors die everyday).
"I told Kouen we should put him on a leash!" You growled under your breath. Eventually, you caught sight of familiar light red hair peaking from the Healer's den.
"Why don't you fight old reptile. I thought dragons were fierce warriors!" A familiar whine was heard as you sighed.
"I'm a Shaman boy! I don't fight, I heal! Now get a move on before I break my vow of peace and throw you into the lava cauldron!" An gruff aged voice hissed. You heard the sound of Kouha enhancing his metal vessel.
"Let's see you try!"
You charged in and grabbed the offending prince by his hair tugging him to the entrance, with Jinjin, Junjun, Reirei, and Kouha complaining and warning you to let go of his hair.
"Sorry Autumnfang, it won't happen again," the elderly male snarled.
"Better tell that hardhead mate of yours to keep an eye on this one (W/N) or he's not going back!"
"Believe me, I will, and if this does happen again, I will personally throw this one into the volcano," with that, you dragged Kouen's brother from the den and threw him on the ground, your arms crossed, and your expression unamused. He stuck his tongue at you.
"It's not like I was doing anything wrong (Y/N),"
"Threatening the tribe healer and spiritual leader is an offense Kouha, be grateful I was the one who found you and not some other warrior," he smirked sadistically.
"Like they could've stopped me,"
"Please don't punish the prince (Y/N)!" Jinjin begged. You sighed.
"I don't have the energy to. Come on, let's head to the arena, maybe there you'll work off your bloodlust for the rest of the trip," he smiled.
"Don't count on it,"
Throughout the way back, Kouha bombarded you with with questions, not unlike his brother when you first met, calming you a bit.
"Hey (Y/N), how come no one but us calls you by your real name?"
"Real names are for close family and friends, warrior names are more formal,"
"How come we have to keep eating those nasty herbs that old coot cooks up every morning?"
"Your bodies would burn quickly because of the temperature otherwise,"
"How come you guys stay in your human forms with the wings and tails sticking out?"
"Our true forms take up space and energy, so we prefer mostly being in this form while resting,"
"What's your tail for?" You stopped and turned, seeing him follow your tail as it slithered back and forth, probably bringing up the question. He looked up after seeing you stop.
"Well?"
"It has a number of uses: steering in flight, batting away enemies, balance, and...other things," your face became slightly red as he smirked.
"Like?" You cleared your throat.
"Never mind, we're here,"
You led the group into the upper part of the arena. From there you saw your kin in law watching spectacle, in short, your shirtless mate fighting 3 dragon males in their halfling form. You struggled to keep yourself from drooling over your mate's gods blessed physic and his ease in battle against the cocky young warriors. Your mother suddenly joined you.
"My my, you sure know how to pick them (Y/N). Look at that form. If I were a few years younger, I may have had a go at him," Kouha pretended to throw up. You gave her an unamused look.
"How's father treating you?" She laughed and continued on, an unsettling grin on her face.
"So, has he found out about it yet?"
"What?"
"You know," her tail made a whip like motion and you realized what she meant.
"Mother!"
"What dear? It is the best way to do things!"
"Do you know how much he'd abuse it! I'd never be able to breath!"
"You say that like it's a bad thing,"
"What are you talking about?" Kouha asked, you had forgotten he was there. You quickly covered your mother's (big) mouth.
"Nothing," cheers erupted from the arena as you saw your mate standing over the bodies of his defeated foes. He looked up to you, his face stoic, but his eyes promising you a satisfying night.
You managed to round up the Kou royal family into the library for dinner since the previous night had ended with Kouha severing several heads (another reason why you didn't want him to come). You kissed your mate.
"You did well today. It seems you've gained mother's favor," he grunted.
"Hardly, those warriors were pathetic,"
"Try not to say that in front of the Tribe dear," Koumei finally managed to peek up from the book long enough to ask.
"Where did Kouha run off to?" Before loosing interest again. You closed your eyes and ground your fangs.
"Picking a fight with Autumnfang. Kouen, tell that brother of yours to control himself!" He gave you look.
"You may as well ask me to tell the tides to change direction," you sighed and looked around. Where was Kouha anyway? Before you could even react, you felt hands on your tail.
"Time to see what this does!" The 3rd prince yanked hard and you let out a loud moan, quickly covering your mouth. There was silence in the room as your cheeks burned red. Kouha looked completely unfazed.
"So that's what Blightstar meant,"
"Are you alright (Y/N)?!" Hakuei asked worriedly, though she was blushing too. You felt Kouen's hand on your shoulder.
"I think I will decide that for myself in private sister. Enjoy the rest of the evening," He guided out the door and to your den where he immediately had you pinned to the wall with your legs around his waist, and both of you kissing madly. Eventually you came up for air and he gave a deep foreboding chuckle.
"So when were you going to enlighten me on this little fact about your race?" You desperately tried to catch your breath and quench the growing heat.
"I was hoping you'd never find out," after another chuckle, you felt another abusive tug on you tail, forcing a scream like moan from you mouth. You struggled not to give in to the pleasure and saw your mate had wrapped your tail around his wrist and held the tip in his hand. He sunk his teeth into your neck.
"Let's see how loud I can make you scream,"
