David sighed looking out the window at the muddy scene. He had planned a whole day of outside activities that he was sure the kids would have enjoyed. But mother nature had other plans, and so the kids played inside instead. Gwen was playing with them but after Space kid accidentally spilled a drink on her she opted for just putting on a movie for them.
David continued to stare at the falling rain, strumming sad short notes on his guitar. It was surprisingly quiet for a room full of small children, even more so for a room full of these specific small children. Even Max was being quiet.
"I wish the rain would stop." David sighed as Gwen sat beside him. Putting her hand on his to stop his repetitive strumming.
"I know. Maybe it will soon...."
He humed quietly to himself and say his guitar aside. Today was much to long and plain.A few more hours passed before there was any change. There was a knock at the door and David jumped up excitedly to answer it, upon opening the door he was met with a familiar set of baby blue eyes.
"Daniel!" David cheered quickly pulling the man out of the rain and into a hug.
"Daniel?!" The children repeated. Max stood up and quickly made his way over to the men. "What the fuck is he doing here?!"
David frowned slightly "Now Max. That's no way to welcome back and friend. Last time we saw he was taking to the hospital."
"Because he drank rat poison, after trying to get us to drink rat poison!" The ten year old glared at the two men.
"That's enough Max. These jokes of yours really aren't funny anymore. I for one am very happy to see that Daniel is alive and well" David placed a hand on the blond's shoulder. Max growled and walked of cursing under his breath.
" Great to be back David." Daniel said with a smile. " I was wondering if you guys still needed help down here. I promise to not get carried away this time."
"Oh of course we do friend. You're always welcomed here at Camp Campbell." David exclaimed smiling brightly. Gwen tugged at his sleeve "David are you sure about this?" David I turned to her "Of course! The more the merrier." Gwen looked unsure, but nodded anyway.
David turned back to Daniel and glanced out the window. An even bigger smile took his features "The rain stopped! This day just keeps getting better!"
