Victory
You know when you're doing something really important and human nature has to get in the way? Like when your rock climbing, talking to a guy you like or crawling through an air vent ready to steal an almost priceless artifact. And you have to go to the bathroom?!
"Okay Vic, now you move three vents to the left." Kit says, probably scanning the laptop in Sam (our black serial killer van) with her big, blue, creepy eyes.
I touch my earpiece, trying to sound as irritated as possible; "Kit if you call me Vic again Sam will be in a tragic accident." I say though we all know it's an empty threat. I smile to myself and take a left. Looking around the cramped vent, I spot the pathway to a four hundred- thousand dollars and our getaway.
"Hey Ms. Congeniality, do you have a visual on the painting?" the ever bright Kat says with thick sarcasm.
I roll my eyes and pop open the vent, as silently as a mouse. Finding hand holds I creep down through the vent, and touch my earpiece again.
"I have a visual on the painting. Trix, did you take out the guards?" I ask moving with cat like reflexes. Carefully I move out of the vent, and slide my legs over my head. While somehow finding a handhold to support my body weight. Dangling from the vent, I push off from the ceiling and land in a cat like crouch.
"Yeah, and guys please, don't be so mean to each other." Beatrix says always playing the peace keeper.
Watching the red lasers I quickly move my legs and do some various flips. Inches from the painting I move my hand behind the canvas and feel for the weighted alarm system. Taking my left hand I search my pocket for the weights and quickly slide them behind the canvas. All the while my leg is shaking from having to pee.
"Vic you have five minutes." Kit says her voice droning.
"Are we boring you?" says Kat, Kits ever annoying twin sister.
Slowly moving the canvas off the wall I slip it off and Kit thankfully turning off the alarms lets me walk through the office door. As I'm two feet from the doorknob, I hear voices. Not thinking I throw the painting through the air vent and quietly follow afterward. I slide the vent on just as I hear the office door open. Whispering I press my earpiece;
