Long one again.

"You ready?" my uncle called from down stairs
"yea!" I ran down stairs. "just nervous"
"you got nothing to worry about (y/n)" he wrapped me in his arm. "my boys are gentlemen. You're going to like it at the Dx!"
I had just moved in with my uncle while my mom and dad were working out the divorce. But after 2 weeks or more I would go back and live with my mom in Austin. I couldn't wait. I hated this town it was so boring. My uncle didn't have a lot of money so my mom talked to him so I can stay with him if I work at his gas station.
"How many work there?" I asked as we drove to work.
"I got 2 boys. Steve and sodapop" I looked at him in disbelief
"sodapop?" I asked. What kind of name is that.
"yea that's his real name. He's a good lookin kid" he looked away back out the window. "Steve is part time and soda works full time. There 16 and 17"
"then how does soda work full time? What about school?"
"he had to drop out a little while back. His parents died in a car crash and he has to work so him and his brothers can stay together"
It got really quiet. We finally arrived at the gas station.
"Steve! Soda! Get over here" my uncle waved them over and two boys came running. [more in comments. It's really long]
"this is my niece (y/n)" I half way smiled. I was looking around at anything to get my thought off of this town.
"Nice to meet you, I'm soda" I turned to look at soda to shake his hand. He was really cute. It was shocking. He probably has a girlfriend.
"nice to meet you" I shook his hand.
"yea I'm Steve. Nice to meet you" Steve reached his hand out then realized it was full of oil and quickly pulled his hand away.
"nevermind I don't want to get you too dirty on your first day" he whipped his hand on his shirt.
"Steve get back to working on that car and soda show (y/n) how to use the cash register"
"ok got it" they both said at the same time. Me and soda walked into the Dx and he showed me how to work the cash register. A car came into the parking lot.
"I'll be right back" he said running out to fill the gas
I starred at him in awe. The girls in the car were flirting with him. He could get any girl he wanted. I didn't noticed but Steve walked in.
"yea all the girls come to see soda" he said. It startled me I jumped and hit the cash register and it made a loud noise. Soda looked into see what was happening then looked back at the girls.
"oh Steve how long have you been standing there?" I was really embarrassed. Did he see me looking at soda?
"long 'nough to know you got a crush" he laughed at me and I giggled a little
"no!" I was trying to be serious.
"yes you do!" he was cracking up "it's a case of the sodas. Every one has had them at one point. You meet soda and you think he cute. I even had them back in grade school then I realized i was an idiot."
"I assume you two are bestfriends" I said
"yup. Hes like a brother to me"
"that's sweet" I said looking back at soda "so um does"
Steve cut me off "nope he's single"
How did he know what I was going to say.
"hey here he comes!" Steve said as soda walked in. Steve was intentionally trying to embarrass me. I felt my cheeks get hot.
"what's up?" soda asked opening the door
I looked at Steve. I gave him a dirty look so he wouldn't say anything.
"oh nothin!" Steve said sarcastically
Soda was really confused. He just looked around. "um...ok then"
"(y/n) you feelin ok?" soda asked.
"yea why?"
"your face is really red" soda pointed me to the bathroom
I ran in to look in the mirror. There was nothing wrong with my face. I looked at soda confused. And him and Steve were laughing up a storm.
"haha very funny!" I said sarcastically.
"oh there it goes!" Steve said
I looked back in the mirror and I was really blushing. As I washed my face I quickly looked over at soda. He was starring at me smiling. I smiled back.
The rest of the day was so long. I just sat at the cash register and got to watch a bunch of girls flirt with soda. It was almost 7 when my uncle came in.
"(y/n) can you go tell soda his shift is over?"
"yea no problem!" I walked out side and went over to sodas pump.
"hey what's up?" he asked me with a big smile on his face.
"nothing. Uncle Kenny said you can go home know"
"ok thanks. I just got to go inside to punch out"
We walked inside together. It was really quiet.
When we got inside Steve looked at soda raising one eyebrow. Soda nodded no. I had no idea what they were talking about. I figured it was nothing. I was about to leave when I looked back at soda and Steve and Steve was saying something to soda and hitting his stomach. Kinda like he was trying to get him to do something.
"mr Kenny!" Steve called
"(y/n) you can go wait in the car" my uncle said to me as he walked over to the boys.
Soda was talking to him and at the same time they all looked back at me. I looked away for about 2 seconds and saw soda waiting at my window. I rolled down my window so I could talk to him
"hey what's up" I was kinda nervous to talk to him.
"nothin' I just wanted to see if you wanted to go watch a drag race with me and Steve tonight."
I looked over at my uncle and he nodded yes.
"um...ok yea sure" I said.
"ok can I pick you up around 8"
"yea that sounds good" I said to him.
"I'll see you then I guess" he smiled and ran back over.
My uncle got in the car and looked at me "what time is he picking you up"
"around 8" he nodded his head. "what time do you want me back?" I asked.
"no time. As long as you come home" he smiled.
"thanks uncle Kenny.

I spent a lot of time with soda for the 3 weeks I was there. But then I got a call from my mom. She said to pack my stuff and she was coming to get me in an hour. I couldn't wait to get out of that town. I packed my stuff up as fast as I could. But then I sat down and realized something. What about soda. What was I going to tell him. He never asked me to be his girlfriend. But I still loved him. I had to tell him. I walked to his house.
"hey soda?" I called through the door as I opened it "you here?" I walked in the house and saw him sitting on the couch.
"I'm in here"
"hey" I was kinda upset.
"(y/n) what's wrong?" he put his hand around my back and gave me a hug
"my mom is coming" we both knew this day was coming but we weren't prepared for it. I started to cry a little bit.
"shhh don't cry (y/n). Don't cry." I laid on the couch in his arms. We just laid there until my uncle called the house telling us that my mom was at his house.
We walked hand and hand to my uncles house. I gave soda one last hug before I got into the backseat of my moms car. I was looking through the back window of my moms car and I waved to him. He looked like someone just stabbed his heart. Once we started to drive away I regretted it. I made my mom stop the car
"Mom I want to stay with uncle kenny" I ran out of the car and sprinted to soda. He engulfed me in his arms. b
"I thought you were leaving" he said squeezing me.
"I couldn't do it. I can't be away from you" I was still a little upset I almost left.
"(y/n)" he pulled away from me "are you my girl?"
I looked into his eyes and kiss him "I always have been" he pulled me back and kissed my head.
