There are things in this world, we may never understand. If you think the world is ordinary you must seek beyond the obvious.
A young boy nearly the age of six often played in the forest and in the streams of the creek by his hometown. He would talk freely amongst himself, openly having a conversation with a non-existing mate. A mate for only which he could only see. From the adult's perceptive of his town, this young boy was strange and was often alone. He hardly played with others, and he seems to preferred it that way. The boy was called, Izuku Midoriya, who taught himself comfort within the deepest of the darkest woods.
When Midoriya's mother took her child to the park, he would swing on the swings, quietly by himself. His mother knew, he was uncomfortable around others, but as long as she tried to kept up with a public appearance, what could go wrong? Other mothers questioned Midoriya's mother about her child, often asked such questions as, "why can't he play with others?"
His mother protested that young Izuku Midoriya was just being a child, playing make-belief, and for the time being Midoriya's mother eased the town's judgement against her child, however some people had their own suspicion.Through the eyes of his peers, Midoriya was the epitome of a reject. A sore loser. Somewhat of a freak. He was labeled as creepy and a loner at that. There were always rumors, of course, he had a reputation of anything from being a devil worshiper to a mad scientist bringing the dead back to life. However, those rumors were not very far from the truth.
What his peers didn't know, was that Midoriya could see the unseen within the world. Seeing the dead was an understatement.
Throughout his childhood, he had seen ghost and spirits of all walks of life. Spirits which seemed to be earth bond or simply passing through. He had come to realize he had this ability and accepted it at a young age. But by accepting this kind of ability came more of a burden.
From the age of seven to ten years of age Midoriya suffered from night terrors. Waking up multiple times at night in which a ghost would plead for help caused the small Midoriya to suffer mercilessly of sleep deprivation which only later as he grew older developed into insomnia.
If an average person saw this alternative world, most would concur it was something out of a nightmare, and would drive them mad. But as for Midoriya he grew to learn this world, and it was normal. He had seen the unfortunate souls who didn't know they were dead and often relived the endless loop-hole of their deaths, over and over and over again. He had interacted with spirits who knew they were dead but was earth bond which simply meant they were stuck in time. He had helped some to cross over when they reached out for help while others continued to haunt. Some low level spirits were bonded to the location of their deaths and others were strong enough to move freely. And some spirits who carried a grudge or was fill of rage had turned into wraiths.
Midoriya learned that Wraiths are strong evil spirits. They can multiple objects and can cause possessions. Wraiths can multiple their own image to what they desire which makes them difficult to find. But they love to cause mayhem. They feed of the fear which they inflict on others. But with good communication skills can maybe convince a Wraith to move on.
Midoriya had outgrew his fear of the dead long time ago. To him, the dead such as spirits and wraiths were the average joe in his book. But there are things in which he wished he hadn't seen.
Twisted souls which had turned themselves into disfigured artificial "beings" in the afterlife. Moaning and grunting in pain as they crept. Lurking within those very woods Midoriya often played in. He had seen them there before. Watching as they creep observing the small desolate children. Midoriya saw these twisted souls just as humans saw a fly on the wall or rats on the streets. Utterly disgusting, and unpleasant. Useless and brainless things. He called those creatures Nomu.
