"this seems all too familiar.this feeling of being lost."
as my body jolted forward i felt my bed lightly hit the wall.
another nightmare.
nothing new.
i could still feel fear pulsing through my veins and drops of cold sweat sliding down my spine.
the red glow of my clock illuminated my desk and other small parts of my room.
2:15
so much for fixing my sleep schedule.
i roughly brought my fingers through my hair while throwing the bed sheets off and making my way to the mirror.
after splashing ice cold water on my face i could finally see the results of never sleeping.
leaning in closer i focused my eyes on the red veins spreading through out my cheeks and the dark purple circles that look like shadows under my eyes.
i look like a vampire.
with one final glance i made my way to the living room.
i grabbed my headphones and vans as quietly as i could before slipping out the front door and onto the porch.
the walk to the community pool gave me time to think.
tonight is like any other night.
i can't control my thoughts.
my head is way to loud to handle.
the pool is the only place i can think. as odd as it sounds.
there's something about sitting on those crappy plastic chairs and looking up at the stars.
i used my small amount of upper body strength to lift my body over the fence and onto the concrete beneath me.
the sound of someone's voice made me look up from spinning the silver ring on my pointer finger.
when my eyes focused i noticed the silhouette of a girl.
i couldn't see her face, but i studied her mannerisms.
i took note of the way she snapped her fingers on her left hand then her right.
quite a few times at that.
8 times on each hand, if i counted correctly.
i could tell she was upset.
the urge of wanting to comfort her came over me.
almost like i already knew her.
"hullo"
my voice came out quieter than i wanted to, but still loud enough for her to hear.
her striking eyes found there way to me, i could tell she was in a state of surprise.
i mean it is the middle of the night.
