I had found myself in prison a couple days later, for stealing over and over again from a grocery store. There were mostly kids that looked to be 15-17 and I think there were some 14 or 18 year olds, but I didn't look closely. The prison guard opened my cell and led me to the dining area. There was a window with bars on it, but it was at least 30 feet in the air. I always sat at the table next to it, trying to find a way to break it open. I got my slop they call food and sat down at the same table. I noticed a hammer under my seat to I reached down and pulled it up. It might be able to break the bars. I looked around, no one was sitting near me and the guards were pretty far away. I flipped the hammer around in my hands before getting up and hammering the bars on the window as fast and as hard as I could. The bars snapped off quickly, and that's when I noticed they were screwed into the top and bottom of the window. Someone must have undone the others. I pulled off the bars and leaned over the edge. If I jumped and landed incorrectly I would easily break my legs or worse, die. I looked behind me to see the prison guards running towards me at full speed. I couldn't take another day here. I jumped out the window and everything seemed to slow down, like really slow. Then I saw a flash of light, then darkness, then I was on the roof of the nearest building, which was an office for programmers. I looked around confused, 'What just happened?!?!' I thought. I shook my head and started climbing down the side of the building, which luckily had many grips. When I reached the bottom I ran in the opposite direction of the prison. I could hear the sirens but I ignored them.
I kept running till I collapsed onto my neese on the crosswalk in front of a Safeway. I sat there panting for about 10 minutes before I got up and walked into the store. I went to the back illes and found a water fountain. I shoved a kid who looked like they were 9 out of the way and took a long drink from the water fountain. It felt so refreshing as I cupped it in my hands and threw it on my face. I turned around to see the girl glaring at me, and two parents standing on each side of her, glaring at me also. One of them walked straight up to me and said, "What are you thinking shoving a little girl? Hasn't anyone taught you manners?" to me she sounded like a hissing snake. She raised a hand to slap me but when it came down I grabbed it and twisted it until she was on her neese. "What are you thinking slapping a kid, hasn't anyone taught you manners?" I mimicked her voice. The dad started running towards us so I let her go and pushed her away. I started to run and heard the mom crying, the dad yelling swear at me, but the one thing that stopped me in my tracks was when the little girl said, "Aniko?" I skidded to a stop at this and whipped around to glare at her. "How do you know my name? Who are you!" I yelled. She flinched but said calmly, "I'm Ana...I'm friends with Zoe...she's your sister isn't she? But if she is then why are you here? She lives in Seattle, this is Kent," I couldn't believe it, I thought it would be a lot harder to find Zoe but bam, I just got her coordinates. I started to run again, I ran out of safeway, and ran to the nearest bike shop, which was coincidentally just across the street.
When I entered there were bikes everywhere, and many gadgets that went on the bikes. But looking at the prices, I no longer felt guilty about stealing from this guy (Which I planned to do), I mean $600 for a bike?!?!? And that was the cheapest one! I walked up to the counter and asked him what the fastest bike was. He came out behind the counter and showed my to a bike that was locked to the wall. "This is the Vintage 223, can go 28.7 miles per hour before the electricity stops, for safety purposes of course." He looked at me and continued, "You have to be 16 to have one, and it cost $2,566, I doubt you can buy it, but if you have your parents pay....," He looked away from me and went on and on about the bike but I just looked around to make sure no one was there before I punched him square in the temple twice, knocking him out. I quickly hopped over the counter and searched in the draws. Most just had weird tools but I finally found one filled with keys. I took a quick glance at the lock and saw that the key hole was huge so I grabbed the biggest key and ran back, hopping over the counter again. I shoved the key in the keyhole and turned it, and it worked like a charm. I carefully brought the bike out, turned it on, and hopped onto the seat which was a little too tall. I started biking and there was a sudden burst of energy. 'Wow! This is awesome! When I get back i'm saving up for an electric bike!' I thought gleefully.
Chapter 6 Troubles coming around the mountain when it comess.
It had been about 3 hours and I was biking along the road on a mountain. It was starting to get dark and my power was getting low so I turned off the bike and pedaled for a while. I finally stopped the bike and walked it a little of the hill and hid it behind two rocks. I made a little fire and spent an hour making a cave out of rocks. I sat on the edge watching the highway, starving. I watched as many trucks whooshed by loudly, and never noticed the boys coming up behind me. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply, then I felt one of the boys grab my shoulder and pulled me up and shoved me against the side of the mountain. The kid had black hair and was slightly shorter than me, probably 5' 1" and he was wearing long sweat pants and a black jacket with a hood. I looked to my right to see his two friends both with white hair, looked like twins, and both had 12" knifes. One of them was holding onto my electric bike, and the other drew his knife and came towards me. I quickly ran at the one with the black hair and pushed him onto the highway. The twin lunged for me, swinging the knife. I jumped back and ran up the mountain about 5 feet so I had leverage. When he started to climb I jumped on him, knocking the knife out of his hand. But that must have been the worst idea I ever had because he swung me around and threw me to the ground, knocking the air out of me. I rolled onto my back moaning, watching him scramble to his knife while his twin walked towards me. I tried to get up but the second twin pinned me down. 'It's over..i'm gonna be killed by a bunch of teens.' I thought, crying. I was flipped onto my back, and the second twin said out loud, "You'll watch me kill you," he smiled creepily. He forces the knife down quickly so the tip stabbed into my stomach. The other twin yelled, "Dammit bro! Were not supposed to kill him you idiot!" The second twin yelled back, "That's what Alex said, but he's dead didn't you see him get crushed by the truck?" Then the twin raised the knife again, and I shut my eyes tight. Suddenly the weight of him was lifted off me and I opened my eyes, which I immediately regretted. The creature had pinned him against the ground and was ripping him apart, while he was still alive. The first twin stabbed his knife into the creature's head, but it barely flinched as it picked him up and ripped off his head. It turned to me and stared at me with its red blood eyes. I started to panic and jumped up to run up mountain. I looked behind myself to see a small wolf pup staring at me. 'Where'd it go..?' I thought. I walked back down and picked up the wolf with no hesitation. The wolf growled but I ignored it. I picked up there backpack and emptied it, then put the wolf in, making sure she wouldn't fall. I then hopped on the electric bike and started riding down the hill, seeing Seattle in the distance.
