“Happy Birthday best friend!” I greeted her between our hug
“Thank you JJ” she replay to me in a very jolly voice
Today is the birthday of my best friend slash my love. Yes, I’m secretly in love with my best friend Mary Joyce. I love her since we were kids but you know? I’m such a coward here to confess my love because I’m afraid that she’ll just take it for granted and I’m afraid to lose our friendship.
“Hey! JJ what happened to you? You’re daydreaming again?” I went back to my senses. If you only knew that the one I’m dreaming of is no other than you
“Nah… I’m just thinking of something” I just said in replay
“Ah okay, JJ can we go to the park?”
“Why? At this time it’s already 8 pm in the evening Auntie will get mad to us” I said in confusion
“JJ you know that I don’t have a cake today even though it’s my birthday because we can’t afford it” she said. It seems her smile turn in to frown but she did not show it to me.
“MJ you did not answer my question”
“As I’ve said I don’t have a cake and for me if I don’t have a cake I will not be able to make a wish but if we will go to the park maybe I can see some shooting stars there and then I will be able to make my wish” she said with full of hope in her heart
“Is that so?”
“Yes” she answered
After I heard the word “yes” I went quickly inside our house to get something
“Hey JJ where are you going?!” I did not mind what she said instead I continue run inside our house.
