Hi guys! I may have updated a little early...
But I'm going to try and get as many Divine Chaos chapters out as I can before I go back to university!
I really think this novel deserves to be finished, (don't worry, there is still quite a way to go) but I'm really enjoying writing it at the moment!
Enjoy this chapter....
And PLEASE, please comment and vote! I really want to know what you guys are thinking so far, its hard to know where to go without any feedback from you about what you'd like to see in future chapters!
Chapter 19
"Sorry about all that..."
I raise my eyebrows slightly, "It may have been slightly unnecessary to do that."
Marco sighs and rests his head in his hands as he sits in the chair by my desk, I perch on the end of my bed, keeping my distance from the school's token bay boy.
I suspected as much, after the day everything happened at the temple. Marco got a headache at the same time as the rest of us Olympians...I guess it just took him longer to realise what was going on.
I should've reached out to him sooner.
I shouldn't have based my judgement of his situation on a small note passed back and forth at school.
"Look, something's up with me." He groans, tucking a handful of his chin length black hair behind his ears.
"Why did you decide to come to me?" I ask.
"You were the one who picked up that spear. I couldn't help but notice that a very similar one is hanging from your neck these days...What did you do to us Amber?"
His statement irks me, I'm not an angry person, but accusations like that seem to leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I cross my arms over my chest and lean forward, "What did I do to you? Well, you were the one who decided to go through that door and try picking up that spear first."
"I didn't come here to fight."
"Whatever Marco." I groan, watching him carefully, "Can you please tell me what has happened to you."
"Alright." He mutters, "I doubt you're going to like it though."
Well...Marco. I doubt my parents are going to like catching you in my room if our conversation wakes them up.
I'd better get him out of here sooner rather than later.
"Please keep your voice down...but go on." I reply.
He takes a deep breath.
"I can communicate with the dead."
My eyes widen and Marco clearly sees the semi disgusted look crossing my face.
"Wow, thanks for your help and support."
"I'm sorry!" I gasp, "But, wow. Are you alright?"
"Do you really think I'd be alright?" He asks me, the question clearly rhetorical.
"Ok." I admit, "I guess not. Sorry."
"I just thought it was a side effect from something...else. At first anyway."
My brow furrows, but I decide it's probably best not to ask what else he's been up to.
"Anyway." He continues, "I went cold on everything for the past month. But they've still been turning up. Sometimes there are voices in my head, sometimes it feels like something is going through me. It's unnerving."
