"Shut up! Just...shut the eff up! I don't want to hear this bull crap from you. Not you too." Choking on her tears, the girl turned. Looking in my direction, I closed my eyes, pained. She never saw me, nor the boy. Every night, the same dream. The same results. Every. Damn. Night.
"Please, be reasonable! There are ways for-"
"There is no way that my situation will ever change, and you know that! You know that I can't stay here forever and I'll go crazy, I already am on the brink of-"
"Please, please, stop. Think of the sun! Life!" I kept my eyes firmly shut. The would turn any moment now, any moment, and look at each other, both begging the other to do something for them, that which neither had the strength to do.
I opened my eyes. The two figures were looking at each other, clutching the other's hands tightly. Tears streaming down their faces, I but back the bile that always rose in my throat at the scene, the two faceless figures crying from depressions in their flat literally featureless faces.
Then they turned as one, the boy still clutching to the girl as if she was a lifeboat in a sea of sharks. And, without another word from their lipless mouths, the two disappeared as if erased from the paper of existence.
