The Curious Cases Of Aomine Daiki

Case #2: Third time's the Charm

In this story, Kagami finds out that he is indeed the third time lucky.

First time:

After beating the Jabberwock team with their amazing basketball skills and teamwork, it is no longer uncommon to see Taiga, Kuroko and Kise together playing basketball. Occasionally, someone else from the Kiseki no Sedai would be around to make the number even. Today it was 'the genius scorer' Aomine Daiki that joined them. Regardless of Kise's perfect copy of him, he still loses to the real Aomine who seems to evolve every time they play.

Just like a few minutes ago, Kise was using his perfect copy on Aomine and was sure that he once more could outsmart the dark skinned teen, when he throws everybody off track with another point from a position that should have been illegal. No one really knows how he can be so flexible since they all know him to be quite lazy when it comes to stretching and stuff.

"No fair Aominecchi!!!" the blond whines as his shoulders drop, sweat pouring out of every pore on his body. "So not fair!" he grumbles as he sinks down on the bench and gratefully accepts Kuroko's offered water bottle. There is a companionable silence between them as they watch both power forwards speed up and down the court, trying to outdo each other. The little electrical sparks coming from their eyes alert those in the know that both are in 'the zone' and by the looks of it will destroy everything in their path should it not move out of their way. "They have so much energy." Kise sighs into his towel as he peeks over the edge as he is wiping his face dry.

"Yes, I think Momoi-san is hoping Aomine-kun will put as much effort in his studies as he does in basketball." Both look at each other for a second before they let out a snort since it will be highly unlikely that Aomine will do such a thing.

"Fucking damn it, you Aho!" the voice complaining is loud and boisterous and belongs to a certain two toned redhead now sitting on the ground, panting before flopping down on his back, arms and legs spread out.

"My win again Bakagami!" The tone is smug as is the look on the dark skinned teen's face as he looks back at the redhead on the floor. "Not my fault you can't keep up with me." That earned 'Aho' Aomine a glare from the redhead as he gets up and walks over to the other two at the benches. He, like Kise gratefully accepts the bottle of water handed to him by Kuroko.

The redhead frowns as he sees the normally happy blond, looking sad and depressed. "What's wrong Kise?" He asks, feeling like it is his duty to ask since Kuroko is keeping his mouth firmly shut and is giving him 'the look'. Regretfully he has just taken a sip of water that nearly chokes him as the blond finally answers. "You want to do what?!"

The blond looks a little uncomfortable as it looks like he needs to say it again, and Kuroko thinks it more than fitting seeing as he was on the receiving end of Kagami's sudden water fountain. The water mixed with saliva is dripping of him as Kagami stares at the blond openmouthed.

"Here Tetsu." The light blue phantom accepts Aomine's offered towel and starts to wipe away the excess water, starting with his hair. The dark skinned power forward just rolls his eyes at Kagami and Kise as he lifts his own water bottle to his mouth and takes a few generous gulps of the clear liquid. "I am telling you Kagami, you don't want to be involved in this ridiculous plan of his." he drawls before rummaging in one his coat pockets and takes out a piece gum. Popping it in his mouth he ignores Kise's 'You are soooo mean Aominecchi!' whine and dribbles the ball back to the three pointer line and starts shooting some hoops. Obviously not wanting to take part in the unfolding drama near the benches.

"What should I do kagamicchi?" The blond asks quietly and stares at the redhead with big watery eyes. "I really want to give sempai a phenomenal present on the party to celebrate his retirement from the club." And you are asking me this why? The redhead looks startled at the question, and looks around to Kuroko for help. Which considering the nature of the topic to be a very bad idea.
