Im tired of being alone. If I'm with family & friends I feel on top of the world. Untouchable, but afterwards I go to my dark house which is filled with silence. Don't get me wrong I love my life and I wouldn't change It for the world. I just wish I could find love. I know I'm only 20 but I'm very independent I've always been independent and I like it that way. I Don't need a man to change my life or to rely on. I want one because I can have one.

The door creaking open in front of me instantly snapped me out of my rather deep thoughts.

"Kelly" My mum said dragging out my name in awe. I opened my arms and took in her loving scent as she hugged me. The scent that I called home, the scent that would make me feel Safe no matter what the situation was.

"Why are you here so late my darling?" She asked me whilst looking into my eyes pulling away from the hug.

"I thought I'd just come to say hello to you and dad I know I came to see you both yesterday but I thought maybe today Piper might of been home." Piper was my younger sister, she was only 16 but I worry about her. Mum & Dad would tell me she's always out late at night and her whole attitude has just changed. I never told Mum and Dad but the other day I saw her walking along with a bunch of people listening to very loud music and just messing around. Smoking. I never told either Mum or Dad I just didn't want to worry them.

"She's not home she went out earlier, again as usual she had a major attitude constantly being rude and just acting odd." She said sounding generally worried.

"I think its just a stage mum I wouldn't worry I'm sure she will grow out of it" I said trying to console her. She gave me a familiar warming smile.

"Hello poppet" My dad greeted me with the same familiar saying that he would always say and has always said it ever since I was very little.

"You look nice where are you off too?" My mum said admiring my dress.

"Oh me and Lillian are going out tonight for a bit" My mum looked worried.

"Just promise us that you will be careful, you know how much you mean to us if anything happened to you me and dad have no idea what we would do." At first I was touched by her words but I then rolled my eyes.

"Yes mum I've been out lots of times by myself I'm very independent and I can 100% assure you that I'm gonna be just fine"

"Okay sweetie well you better get going, we don't wanna keep you waiting too long do we remember what I said okay?" Again I rolled my eyes at her worrying response.

"Mum I said I'm going to be fine trust me stop worrying about me I can manage and I know what I'm doing!" I quickly hugged Them both because Lillian was waiting for me to pick her up. I then  gave them a kiss on the cheek and we exchanged our goodbyes.

The cold outside instantly hit me as I left their home. I looked back and waved and then carefully avoided the mud on the path which led to my car. My car was small and a beige colour, I'm most proud of it because I've been saving up for it ever since I was 16. I got in and the leather seats touched my legs and made me jump as they were so cold. I turned the heat on and let my body warm up before I even dared to go anywhere.

Lillian is calling...

I clicked the answer button as I heard the ring.

"Are you coming?" I heard the familiar voice of my best friends.

"Yeh just leaving now" I said whist trying to balance my phone in the cup holder as I drive.

"Okay see you soon love you!" She dragged out the love you like always. I ended the call and continued to drive to see Lillian. I turned my window wipers on so I would be able to see after I heard the sound and splatters of rain on my car great thats all I need I thought. Rain. Lets just hope tonight will be good.
