Usagi's POV

It was just a normal day, like any other. My eyes were locked on to my computer screen, completing a script for a brand new book, my fingers dancing across the keyboard. I glanced over at the clock, and it read 6 PM.
"Ah, good," I sighed. "Misaki should be here anytime now." I was craving some of his delicious cooking. I would make myself a meal, but all I can do is burn down the apartment.
A few minutes in, I heard the door creek open. Just in time! I had just finished the very last sentence. I shut down my laptop, and headed for the stairs.
"Misaki! Welcome back!" I exclaimed.
I was expecting a simple, "Hey, Usagi-san! Did you finish your work?" But I got something a whole, WHOLE lot different.
He ignored me.
My Misaki, the bright and kind-hearted boy that I have known for about 4 years, didn't say a word.
Something had to be up.
I trotted down the stairs to get a good look at him. He had his head down, and his messy hair covered his face.  "Misaki?"
"Fuck off, you slag," a bone-chilling, blood-curdling voice answered. When he spoke those words, he looked up at me, with a big, scrunched up face, and shortly after, snapped his head back down.  Misaki... Misaki would never say anything like this. Those words shot me like a gun. I was utterly confused and shocked. Is this... really my Misaki?
Then he cocked his head up. "H-Huh...?" Misaki's voice was now the one that I have known for so many years. His eyes darted from side to side, until he looked up at me. "Oh... Usagi-san..?" I could see that his emerald orbs were filled with puzzlement.
Misaki still had that adorable little baby face. I immediately pulled him into my arms, and squeezed him.
"A-Ah! Hey, what do you think you're doing, Usagi?!"
"I'm simply embracing you, do you have a problem with that?"
"W-Well you just grabbed me out of the blue! I mean, you could have warned me first—" I cut him off as I began to laugh. "H-HEY! STOP LAUGHING AT ME!"
"I can't help it, you're just so adorable," I pecked his red cheek, and that just made him even more flustered.
"Sh-shut up!" He vigorously pushed me away. "Y-You're embarrassing me..."
"Oh come on, it's just a peck!" I chuckled. "I'm sure I'll make you even more embarrassed in the bed tonight..."
"WHAT?!"
"You heard me."
He growled and now had a red beet for a face. "A-Anyways!" Misaki quickly changed the subject.
"Yes?"
"W-What would you like for dinner?"
"Salmon," I replied as I plopped down on the hot pink couch.
About an hour after we ate together as per usual, Misaki seemed really tired and down. He had this forced smile slapped to his face, and would groan every once in a while. I did want to touch him and make him feel good, but he looked like he didn't want to be bothered. So I thought it was best he get a good night's sleep, because I truly do care about him.
"Hey Misaki, you doing alright?" I asked him as the channel we were watching on TV switched to those annoying commercials.
No response.
"Misaki, are you okay?"
"Hmm? Oh, yes I'm fine!" He snapped out of it, laughing awkwardly. "I'm just... a bit sleepy, is all."
"Well then, let's get you to bed. You've got work in the morning, after all," I hopped up, and asked him to come along.
"Hey, Misaki, would you prefer to sleep alone tonight?" I asked as we got into the bedroom we usually shared.
"Wait, what? Why do you ask?"
"Well, I just thought you seemed a bit... off, tonight. So I figured you wanted a little space."
"Oh, don't worry, I'm really okay!" He exclaimed. "But actually... I do want you to sleep with me tonight... I'm just not too in the mood for anything... you know, of that sort."
Usually, when he said something like this, I'd force him into having sex with me by seducing him. But after hearing what he said in that mysterious, raspy voice earlier, I'm worried about the poor thing. "Of course, my darling," I got into bed and lay next to him, turning over to look at his beautiful face. "I don't want to force you. You look like you need some rest." I kissed his adorable little forehead.
"Ah! H-Hey... U-Usagi...!" He blushed.
I giggled at his response to my affection. "I love you, Misaki."
I... love you... too... I guess," He covered his face. Then, he opened up. "I've got to be honest. I've felt really... nervous, lately. Like someone's following me. I feel trapped."
"Oh, Misaki..." I sighed worryingly. "When did you begin to have those kind of feelings?"
"Just recently. The other day at work, I suddenly felt this huge wave of anxiety wash over me, and I felt as if I might die."
I got the urge to give Misaki the biggest bear hug, and did so.
"W-What? Usagi, what are you doing?" He gasped.
"I don't want you feeling that way. Please, talk to me if things get worse. I want you to be happy," I said as I embraced him tighter.
"A-Are you sure..?"
"Why wouldn't I be? I'm always so worried about you."
And his face goes crimson once again. He left my embrace, turned over, and said "Thanks, I guess... I'm sure it's just a phase, though. I'm sure it'll pass."
I trapped him in my arms again, whispered sweet words in his ear, and we drifted slowly, but surely, into a deep, deep sleep.

Author's note:

And that's the first chapter! I know this one is kind of short, but there will be longer chapters in the future. I'm sure you can tell already, but this story is going to be very, and I mean VERY FUCKED UP. In the next chapter, Misaki will be at work, and suddenly feel the urge to throw up. He sprints to the bathroom, and does so. Misaki asks his boss if he can go home due to him not feeling well, and then he ends up vomiting again, which convinces his boss to send him home. Will Misaki tell Usagi like he should, or will he keep it locked up in the back of his mind?
