Marathon Bombing 2013

What drives a person with so much hate

to kill another that's only 8?

Who would think that it is fun

To set off a bomb when the race is done?

So many people were laying down hurt

Their blood on the ground their teeth in the dirt

Police in every city it caused

Fear all around why? Because

Maybe we look to the people who helped

The racers the runners the loved ones who held

The little boy the three that fell

The men the women they were all there

To witness the flair

At the beautiful line

The beautiful horror

The finish is now a joyous sight

The memories though, still fill us with fright

They leave our face an ashen gray

Ash that the streets were filled with that day

Now we run, there is a reason

We run for their death

We run for his treason

We run for her son, his niece, her life

The strong survivors of the treacherous night
